I am using this sticky pod with a small sony hd handy cam. it does work but is not as stable as I would have liked. the knuckles and arms slowly creep down and will not hold even this small camera steady. it has a lot of vibrations also. the sticky pod itself hold well to the glass and no issues other than being too big.

I've done a few camera tests with the rig and it holds down my Sony V1U very easily. The suction cups work!! The only issue I have with the mount is the fact that it's a monopod attachment, which makes it susceptible to some wiggling. The smoothest place to mount it seems to be the hood, while placing it on the side of the car or the roof gives a bit more wiggle. With a bit of gaff tape support the thing gives a better image. The thing I love about it is the versatility of placement- hood, window, dash, doors, etc. The knuckles seem to be a little weak, but have held up in all the tests we've conducted. For my needs, the thing is perfect.

I use this for close up rolling shots or interior shots with the SLR and also use it for video recording on the exterior or interior of the car for autocross (with a basic point and shoot).
This this is STRONG! it takes quite a it of pressure to come off. Youll be sure that it will stay on!
A few problems with it.
The nipples on the suction cup used to remove it from the surface is completely useless. One of mine tore off! Youre better off getting finger or creditcard under the suction cup itself to remove it.
The weight of a SLR is too heavy for it. Even with tightening with vicegrips, it tends to loosen up.
The tethers included are very cheap. I recommend upgrading.
All in all, this is a great tool to have. Easy to set up and remove. Highly recommended for racing!
