I had many years of service with the original version of this. It finally failed and Ikelite fixed it (they probably just replaced it) for $50. Great company. You should always carry a backup sync cord, failure of this part ends your picture taking for the trip.

Ikelite is a stand up company I've cracked a housing and really banged up a strobe they fixed both at no cost.
Not much to say about this cord it does what it's suppose to.

I had to replace my sync cord because the wires got crimped near the connection at the back of the camera and it was shorting out. I was glad to see that the new cord had been beefed up to prevent the wires from getting crimped.

this allowed me to upgrade my Stobe with sensor to a SLR Housing with TTL. This was much better than buying an entire new strobe.

connector and that is why the cord failed.

Works as expected. Connection seems nice and tight. I should have been doing a little more maintainence to the ports on the housing itself (Ikelite) but it cleaned up fine. Nice packaging and an extra little silicon tube (thanks!). I secured the cords to the arms for use, and this kept things in better underwater. It did mean breaking it down each time, but it seemed worth it given the size of the Ikelite adapter pod.

Cord is used for a Canon S5IS underwater housing and DS51 strobe. Connections are very easy to use. In test photos, the TTL pictures are as good or better than ones I took using the manual controller.

It's hard to screw up a product like this, however, the coiled nature allows it to stretch without being sloppy if your are using it shorter.
The o-rings are solid, and they come all greased up and ready to install. TTL is also a plus if your using the Ikelite Housing with a compatible camera.
