Quantum Batteries have been the single most important component in my lighting bag for over 20 years. Getting the power to the flash is a critical need, and quantum's MKZ3 module is just the ticket! The durability of the wires and connections, coupled with the handy attached screwdriver blade to tighten the module inside my flash unit is invaluable to me.
This is a well-thought-out component, and bears the Quantum assurance of durability & quality.
"Power when you need it" is an apt expression.

Comments about Quantum Instruments MKZ3 Locking Module:
I bought this for a DIY external battery kit and was not too keen on building a battery-insert to my SB800. The cable is clever build and can be attached safely in the SB800. The plug is a standard RCA as known from Audio equipment.

I am a Professional, Teacher, Manufacturer of Black Boxes,
Quantum Module MKZ3 This is an excellent product. I have used and installed hundreds of these MKZ's as I use them with my product. They are well made and worth the cost. I use them with most electronics that have a four tube straight design. Works on my recorders and backup drive that use 4 AA cells. (Bet you didn't know that)

Works just fine !! Lots of flashes, Fast recycling.
Cord is a bit stiff but really not an issue. If you use Quantum battery and the SB800 you need one.
Comments about Quantum Instruments MKZ3 Locking Module:
The locking module is important.
The fact that you can't close the battery compartment of the flash unit is not so great.

Comments about Quantum Instruments MKZ3 Locking Module:
The ability to use my QB1+ battery to power my Nikon SB800 flash allows to me generally never run out of power. Getting use to the cable coming out of the flash took some getting use to, but that is a small price to pay for not worrying about having enough battery.

I bought two to use to connect my sb-800's to external batterys. Rock solid, good connections, takes a beating. I put these to the test over the past month at events and I tried to destroy them, couldn't do it. Now I know why a freind recommended them.
