Comments about Kata R-102 GDC Rucksack:
Bought the Kata R-102 for a recent trip to Europe, carrying two Nikon D-100s, 55-200 and 18-70 lenses, flash, power winder, batteries, charger, and a point and shoot camera in addition. Everything fit in the R-102. Spent many, many hours trekking around with the backpack and have to say that this is one of the most clever bags I have ever owned (being both a 100,000+ mile/year business traveler and an 'action sports' enthusiast, I have my share of clever luggage/backpacks/laptop bags/etc.) in that it is perfectly suited for that person that carries a specific set of equipment: two full-size DSLR camera bodies, 2 lenses, and supporting gear. Quick access features are great. The shoulder straps are well designed, making extended carries extremely comfortable, and the bag overall is smaller than you'd think it would be for what it can carry, but not cramped for your equipment. This is my first Kata bag, and will not be my last. I'll probably get a slightly smaller bag for a single camera for light travel, but if you're looking for one that can carry two cameras comfortably: this is it.I've crammed it into many overhead compartments in airplanes. Tossed it around pubs, hotels, tour buses, rental cars, walking everywhere (notice I started with the Pubs!)... no equipment damage, and I'm totally confident in the bag's ability to protect my gear.Oh, I'm 6'2" and 205-lbs. In case that helps anyone in deciding if the bag is too big/small for your body type....B&H also had the best price by more than $25 of all online vendors.Cheers!

Comments about Kata R-102 GDC Rucksack:
I carried a Cannon D40 with a zoom lens along with a digital hand held on a 6 mile "High Note Trail" in Whistler Canada. It camera was easy to get out most of the time although at times was difficult as the new zipper is a bit stiff. This bag has plenty of room on the inside and loops to hang things on the outside. It is very comfortable and will extremely well designed and constructed.

Comments about Kata R-102 GDC Rucksack:
I have owned my R-102 for 3.5 years and still use it on a regular basis.
I currently have 2 DSLR bodies (Nikon D70 & D300), 2 lenses (18-200 & 50mm), 1 flash unit, 2 battery chargers, several sets of AA batteries and extra camera batteries, compact flash wallet, manuals, lens hoods, and rain slick, in my bag. I have fit other combinations of bodies and lenses - the bag is versatile.
I still have room for more stuff, and I have several velcro straps on the side loops of the backpack to sling a small tripod. I use the soft lens bags to carry small items such as batteries and lens caps and they fit snugly inside the dividers. Speaking of which, the dividers are adjustable and employ a technology known as Velcro to humans (it is called Plixsnorp(TM) to the rest of the galaxy).
The case is rugged and can easily be opened quickly and is also quite comfortable with padded straps and a ribbed, padded back. The large ribs on the back allow for more air flow, and thus a reduction in the always popular Back Sweat(TM).
The backpack came with some accessories, that quite frankly, I haven't used. But they are there for the plundering, which is awfully nice of Kata.
This bag is great for travel by airplane, as it fits perfectly under the seat in front of you. I often slightly unzip the R-102 and slip a magazine or book inside for the upcoming journey. I've never had any trouble from TSA airport scanners with this bag either.
I was a wide-eyed and young photographer when I bought this backpack and I generally keep my gear in the bag 24/7. I recently outgrew this trusty companion (I named mine "bag") but it will still see use on vacations and for light assignments. I often take public transportation to an assignment and I can still slip past throngs of people while this is strapped to my back. If the masses of people are too tight, it has a large, comfortable, well balanced, rubber grip handle on the top allow the bag to be carried low and easily twisted and turned for smooth crowd navigation.
Also, it doesn't look bad on when wearing a black suit.
Comments about Kata R-102 GDC Rucksack:
The bag has ample room for a SLR, 2-3 lenses, a flash, and perhaps some odd bits and ends. It also has two exterrior zip pockets and one interrior zip pocket for storing memory cards, batteries, filters, adapters, and other accessories. You can also attach a tripod and other equipment to the sides. This bag is comfortable, excellent for transporting gear, and it has ample deviders for the lenses and big items. This item is well protected if you drop it, or if it was to get wet. But it falls short by lacking good organization for your little items. It is impossible to access your gear when on the go, you have to stop, take it off, and get what you want. This bag is made in such a way that you can purchase more kata piece, and attach it to this bag for more storage. It does come with a rain cover, but it something you have to clip to the bag, or take up valuable space. It should of had a pocket for it.
Problems Encountered: It is impossible to access your gear when on the go because its a Backpack. The biggest draw back I have for this bag is that it doesn't have enough organization for the little things.
Items I Recommend: A small tripod
