Comments about Giottos MM9170 4-Section Pro Monopod:
I use this monopod with a nikon 200-400 vr lens from the cockpit of my kayak. up till now i handheld the lens with varying degrees of sucess. the portable monopod give me much more keepers and it does not take up much space. I also love the foot of the monopod which stays flat against the boat bottom when i tilt the pod a bit. no complaints up to now

Perfect height, great stability and the large foot really helps! I own a couple of Manfrontos also but they just don't compare to this!

I love this monopod. It is easy to use, very sturdy and lightweight. The padded handle feels great to grip especially on the cold winter mornings catching those rising waterfowl photos.

Used this with a Nikon 70-200 lens attached to a Manfrotto QR. The 1/4-20" thread snapped off and if I hadn't had a camera strap on would have lost the lens.[...]

I use this monopod with the Canon 100-400 zoom for long portraits and low light spot where I need a helping hand. I also do some wildlife shooting with this pod.
Works very well, could really ask for more, carbon fiber would be nice though. Price was right for an aluminum pod though.
