Great bag for transitioning from beginner to serious amatuer/semi-pro.
Carries my digital Rebel XT (with the BG-E3 batter grip and a tripod mount attached) and 35mm Rebel, Cannon speedlite 380EX, and two lenses (EF 35-80mm f4-5.6, EF 75-300mm f4-5.6 III), along with the extra battery holder for the BG-E3 grip in the main pouch no problem. Mesh pouch in the top carries batter charger, manuals, AC adapter, and a small rocket air blower. Front pocket is great for filters, pens/pencils and a notebook, cables, extra canon batteries, and CF cards and the two side pockets are still left over for lens cleaning stuff, film, and extra AA batteries. Won't fit much more for lenses unless I dump the 35mm body.
The strap is prefectly paded and is long enough to sling it over your head and flip it around so the bag will stay on your butt and out of the way if you're walking about shooting. Velcro on the spot where the top flap folds over the inner compartment gives an added sense of security over just the two clips and prevents it from flipping open and getting dumped accidentally.
Plenty of dividers included. Paid just as much somewhere else without getting the custom media case.
Good buy for when it's time to get serious and you want to keep your investment protected.

A pro friend warned me about this bag after I had purchased it. The strap fasteners wear out and fail to remain snapped after a few months, especially when putting alot of gear in the bag or securing a tripod to the bottom. The weight makes it fail. So if you go with this bag, do not rely on the top carry handle when carrying the bag. The snaps WILL come loose after use. I will have to replace this bag soon, so the price is not such a good deal after all. Canon should know better.

Comments about Canon 100-DG Digital Gadget Bag:
My sister had the Canon 200DG which according to B&H's site measures 15.5 x 9.3 x 9.1". I did not want one so big and ordered the 100DG, which according to B&H's site measures 13.8 x 10.2 x 6.7". When I opened the package the bag looked huge, and I had my sister bring hers over for comparison. Mine was way bigger than hers, and I have sent it back!
Other than that, the quality is very nice. The hooks and D-rings that hold the strap are sturdy metal, but the "clips" that fasten the top are made of plastic that fasten into a metal finding. I assume the plastic is strong and would not be an issue, but I've had these clips break on other bags. The bag itself had more than enough room, and would configure to hold many different combinations of equipment. The top is held shut in front with two combination metal/plastic clips, that I described, and heavy velcro on the two sides at the top. This velcro is loud and would be a problem in some situations where you don't want that noise such as a wedding or in the wilds of nature where you don't want to scare animals and birds.
The body of my bigger bag seemed a little floppy, but I don't doubt it would protect my camera and lenses. My sisters bag seemed a bit more rigid because it was smaller. In the end, I don't know what to say about the size discrepancy. I haven't replaced the bag at this point and have been spending time reading about alternative bags.

Comments about Canon 100-DG Digital Gadget Bag:
I use this bag with my Canon 5D MkII. In adition to my camera, I put my wireless mics, and all kinds of stuff in it. The clips are strong and robust to take fairly heavy use. adequate but not perfect rain of dust protection s the top is held closed by the clips and is not Zippered. but well made and thoroughly adequate.

Comments about Canon 100-DG Digital Gadget Bag:
Very well constructed bag. It has a section for a laptop, but it works great for holding my flash bracket. I was able to get it to hold two bodies, four lenses and two flashes. Very happy with this bag. The only drawback was that there is no way to attach the dividing pads to the back of the bag with the laptop divider taken out.

The snaps that close the bag are very difficult to open. My friend also has this bag and has the same problem. I find that I leave the bag at home rather than wrestle with opening the bag.

Comments about Canon 100-DG Digital Gadget Bag:
This bag is better looking than any of the Tamrac bags that I own. Too bad the removable partitions are not designed as well as the Tamrac. I bought this bag so that the Height would accomodate my 70-200mm F2.8 Lens, which it does. The bag is made of the finest quality materials. It comes with an unremovable partition for a 13 inch or smaller Laptop, which I cannot use as I have a 15 inch Laptop, and bought this bag for camera equipment only. I have somehow managed to fit a Canon 5D MkII Body, 24-105mm Lens, 70-200mm Lens, Flash unit, Gary Fong Diffuser, Flash Meter, 3 Close-up Extension Tubes and a whole lot of other small accessories in the badly designed interior of this very nice looking bag. If you have a Small Laptop, Small Body DSLR, with Small Lenses, then this is the PERFECT BAG you could buy.

Comments about Canon 100-DG Digital Gadget Bag:
Purchased a cheaper, off-brand bag, for our new Canon 7D camera and supplies only to be frustrated with how the camera "FIT" into the bag. Decided enough was enough, this bag is exactly how I expected a camera to fit into a bag. The body and lens are well protected by velcro adjustable compartment pads. There are plenty of zippered pockets for accessories. All in all, an excellent choice for the novice or pro.

I was looking for a well made medium sized camera bag for my 7D, and this bag works great! Enough room for my 7D w/24-105mm + 580 EXII flash + one extra lens. There is also room for a netbook + accessories. Nice bag, reasonable price, and B&H is a great vendor!

Holds Canon 5D Mark II body, 24-70 and 70-200 lenses, two flashes, Canon G10 point and shoot plus lots of cards, etcetera. Use for compactly carrying gear when traveling.
Seems to be very sturdily built but have not used much yet so will see if so.
I consider myself to be an advanced amateur.

Comments about Canon 100-DG Digital Gadget Bag:
It didn't work out for my specific purposes. I needed a bag to hold a couple Canon bodies (50D & 20D), a flash and 3 lenses. There was plenty of room in the bag for "goodies", but not a good way to set up compartments for my needs. I returned it and am now looking for something else.
