The Panasonic AW-E655 is the 1/2-inch 3-CCD Convertible System camera that offers low-light sensitivity, light accumulation mode and infrared, total darkness image capture. The unit accepts a variety of system option cards that can take the camera from studio configuration to scientific application to remote network operations.

The camera accepts 1/2-inch bayonet mount lenses. With the variety of system components the lens can be focused, zoomed and iris remotely controlled. Other components include remote pan and tilt heads, control panels, control hubs for multiple cameras and camera housings that can withstand outdoor conditions even in harsh weather.

Convertible Camera System for a Range of Functions
The AW-E655 is the 1/2-inch version camera from the Panasonic Convertible Camera System. This camera can adapt to analog or digital studio configurations that allows video to be output to a studio viewfinder and also an intercom communication system. The digital studio card outputs SDI, uncompressed digital video. Other options pertain to network and conventional remote operation with or without the comprehensive range of System pan and tilt heads and controllers.
Superior Processing Power
With 850 lines of resolution, the AW-E655 is sufficient for high quality cable TV and closed circuit productions. It uses an advanced 12-bit analog to digital converter for sharp details and crisp natural colors. The camera can also output a custom-set picture applicable to your particular needs. Parameters like chroma and dark detail correction allow for emphasis on edge sharpness and color saturation.
Low Light Sensitivity
Talk about low-light sensitivity, the AW-E655 has a infrared optical filter that allows the camera to capture images even in complete darkness. Even without the filter engaged the camera has great conventional low-light sensitivity. With illumination of only 0.005 Lux with an f/1.4 lens aperture, the camera can peer into dark places where even the human eye would not be effective. When used in scientific or other ultra-low light conditions, the camera has a light accumulation function exposing a single frame over the time of many frames. With 2 second accumulation mode enabled, the camera can see images with only 0.00005 Lux.
