I bought this pack specifically for my Olympus E-420 outfit. The main compartment holds the body with 40-150 zoom, two more lenses, battery charger, cords, small accessories (filters etc) comfortably. The mesh pockets inside the lid are useful for for other small accessories, notebook and such. The front pocket is large and has room for a CF card case (or cell phone) camera manual, pencil/pens, cables etc. There are outside mesh pockets to hold cleaning cloth and filters etc -or cell phone- for immediate access. There are various clips and straps on the outside that work with Tamracs' line of clip-on pouches. The contents are easy to access and organize, but with it on you can't get to anything, unlike a shoulder bag. It's very comfortable and light, and since it's a backpack it's always out of the way and not dragging on your shoulder. Other small dslrs would work with this case too, but larger cameras - D300 for instance- would be to big. This is a sturdy and well made bag w/heavy gauge material and tight stitching. Highly recommended for its' intended purpose.

Comments about Tamrac 5371 Travel Pack 71 Backpack (Black):
After spending all your money on great camera gear, you need to be able to carry it around efficiently. However, you also do not want to attract robbers to you by seeing that you have just spent lots of money on your new super Nikon or Canon.
The Tamac 5371 looks like a general backpack and not a camera bag. Carrying it around in your hand or on your back, it does not draw attention to itself.
Inside the bag, the layout and flexible partitions allow you to fit in your DLSR and extra lenses and extra gear.
Usually when one gets over the adrenalin shock of buying your camera, you are a soft touch when the sales person asks if you want a bag and they throw in something. Your eyes are so dazzled by the DLSR that any brain power to consider the suitability of the bag is left behind. I bought the Tamac 5371 in a separate visit to B&H and I was able to consider the choice.
You may say to me, "Why not just use an ordinary small backpack". However, backpacks normally are zipped across the top. All the small bits settle to the bottom and there is no support for the contents. With the Tamac 5371, the zips open so that all the bits are easily accessible and the moveable partitions can be set to hold all the bits.
I am happy with the Tamac 5371 as it looks like an "ordinaty" backpack", fits in lots of gear safely and the gear is easy to access.
Go for it!

Wanted a small backpack with compartments that actually hold things in place since we will be on the ski slopes with this bag. Very nicely done.

Fits everything I need without it moving around. I am a college student who is not majoring in photography so I'm a little on the broke side and can't afford many accessories and lenses. This bag is perfect for me. I have my Nikon D5000 with 18-55mm VR lens, a cheap off camera flash, some spare rechargable batteries, a nice strap and a few more things in it fitting comfortably.

I use this for photo walking. That is, for short trips, a couple of hours of taking pictures for fun. It carries an SLR an extra lens and a few gadgets. It small and light. I didn't love spending [$] on this, but I couldn't find anything well built for less.

The Travel Pack 71 has all the great bonuses of a backpack camera bag without the cumbersome size. It can be carried as a stand alone bag with space for your personal items or packed in your carry on bag for travel. Perfect fit for a DSLR and an additional point and shoot, as well as both sets of accessories.

This bag is on the small size. It can comfortably carry my D5000 with lens, maybe two additional lenses and also a small hand held video camera, with all the support gear for these(extra batts, chanrgers, etc). I do like this bag very much.

Very easy to carry around. An excellent bag, especially for beginners. My only complaint is that it is a little too small which makes it odd looking when wearing the two shoulder straps. Isn't much of a bother though since there is also a handle strap on top with nice grip as well. Overall I still enjoy carrying it around and know that my gear is safe and snug.

Believe it or not my 5 year old son has aquired my old Nikon D70 and this is a perfect size bag for someone his size. He has been asking for a "backpack" for his camera (like Dad and Mom's) and since we love Tamrac camera backpacks this is the one we got.

More like a storage case, I bought this to travel through Peru and ended up using a regular school back pack. It is oddly shaped & looks goofy when carried. I only use it to store my equipment at home.

I received the Canon EOS Digital Xti for a gift, but needed a case to put it in. I saw this and decided to try it. It is practical, roomy, and the compartments are perfect for extra lenses. I can also carry my keys, etc, instead of bringing an extra purse on my photography journies. Great product! Durable material, and also does have extras that you can purchase and attach for the all around carry all for camera and accessories.
