Behringer, as a company, manufactures a wide variety of Audio products characterized by a feature-rich design set, cleverly engineered incorporation of existing technologies, and surprising affordability. The TRUTH B2031A speakers, a pair of Bi-Amplified 2-way studio monitors representing Behringer's foray into that very competitive market, are a logical outgrowth of this design philosophy.
The 1" tweeter and 8.75" woofer are housed in a sturdy, purportedly vibration-resistant cabinet, and powered by a 75 and 150 Watt amplifier, respectively. The input connectors are Balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS, and the magnetic speaker shielding we've come to expect has been provided.
The documentation for the TRUTH B2031A speakers emphasizes their inherent linearity of frequency response and the neutrality of the playback experience, meant to decrease listener fatigue and increase the area of the elusive "Sweet Spot". However, if the neutral listening experience is not for you, or if the sound of your control room is less than desirable, Behringer has generously included a cockpit's worth of rear-panel frequency control switches enabling the user to tune the speakers to the environment or simply to taste.

Using these for a home recording studio. There are much higher priced powered monitors, but for the money you won't find anything better. Sound is extremely flat and clear, very crisp. The room I use them in is approx 20x20, and are more power than I need. I highly recommend these.

Comments about Behringer B2031A - Active 2-Way Studio Monitors:
I recently bought these for a home studio and am still in the process of evaluating, but am so far impressed with: 1.) B&H - wow, best price on the web[...] 2.) these are definitely capable of full range reproduction. I've used them for keyboards and vocals and they have plenty of low end and ample power. Have not mixed with them yet. They seem to have no "sweetness" or upper range coloration so far and I'm playing with the roll off switches on the back to find the right settings for my room. So far they sound as flat as the response curve printouts that came from the factory - but there's something bothering me about the midrange that I haven't put my finger on yet. I will update this review after I've had time to come to some useful conclusions. I am convinced enough now to say these are the best sounding monitors you'll find for $350...

I purchased 3 pairs of B2031A from B&H for a Virtual Theater Pipe Organ (VTPO) setup. I drive them with a quad core through a M-Audio 1010LT (with 2 other speaker pairs and a sub). All this is fed from a midified Rodgers 321A organ in a 15' x 20' room. I use Hauptwerk and GSO for the samples. Individual pipes or large chords sound very realistic with clear mids/highs.

I am a professional musician and an up coming producer who believes in getting the best equipment at no expense. I was introduce to these monitors by another producer who said these are the best monitors for the price, even though he is not a Behringer fan. These monitor sounded great, flat and very well constructed. The best product Behringer has ever made in my opinion.

Comments about Behringer B2031A - Active 2-Way Studio Monitors:
Take all of this with the following caveat: It's all considering the price. I've worked sound in commercial studios, on movies sets, on large events, and in my own facility where I use a combination of seriously premium gear and gear I bought because it was good enough and I couldn't afford better. With their [$] price tag, the Truth monitors fall into the latter category, but they are THE MOST quality-per-dollar I've ever gotten with any audio purchase. I'm even a little embarrassed to speak highly of a Behringer product, but it's the truth (no pun intended).Although Behringer equipment tends to last in my experience, we're talking about the company who usually brings you the cheapest device that can accomplish a particular task, and you can almost hear the cheapness even when the device is turned off. The Truth monitors, on the other hand, have not only lasted me seven years to date, but I've used them to make mixes that are clear and enjoyable for the casual listener, and that have been accepted enthusiastically by clients with high expectations--clients who listened to the mixes both on the Truth monitors and in other environments, including large movie theaters. You will need to spend some time getting to know them, and you'll need to compensate for their weaknesses, but they CAN produce professional mixes (in a room properly arranged and acoustically treated, of course). In order to ensure definition below 70 Hz and prevent excessive low frequency content, I recommend doing bass-only passes by cutting off frequencies above 200 Hz or so at the master, shaping and separating individual low-end tracks, and testing your changes with the full spectrum returned at 90 dB SPL. Not a super-elegant thing to have to do as part of your mix process, but let me say it again: [$].I have seen a number of negative reviews for them, a couple of which seemed to be written by highly discerning and demanding professionals who cited legitimate weaknesses--people who expect the best and don't curve their ratings according to price. However, the majority were bizarre, angry rants that didn't make a whole lot of sense. In particular, several reviewers cited high inherent noise and susceptibility to RF. In my experience, nothing could be farther from the truth. These monitors are wonderfully low in inherent noise. They go from blasting music at a volume at which only a maniac would listen to idling in perfect silence when playback is stopped. Of course, for to have this happen for yourself, the components that feed the Truth monitors must all be high quality and low noise, which I suspect was the problem for a number of negative reviewers. Occasionally, I will hear a few cellular pulses through them, but that happens for about 5 or 10 seconds per 100 hours or so of operation. I've never heard a ghost of commercial radio or voice communications through them.Lastly, I use them as my stereo system and they are fantastic for that. The only people I know who have nicer stereos are other audio pros who have Adam and Genelec systems.

Use them for mixing and computer sound (iTunes). Good news, you can get good mixes on these and save a bundle. True sound and lots of adjustments so you can use them in any space. The only problem I had was if you use the auto on/off feature mine will shut off even if there is music playing. Solution ? Don't use that feature, set them to on and use the power switch to turn them off.
