The Behringer TRUTH B2031P is a pair of very inexpensive, magnetically shielded, passive 2-way studio monitors, featuring an 8.75" woofer and a 0.75" ferro-fluid cooled tweeter housed in a damped, MDF designed enclosure.

The unique B2031P wave guide technology, and low-distortion crossover network, produce a linear phase response with consistent sound dispersion and reliable stereo imaging. The speaker's flat, linear frequency response from 75 Hz to 21 kHz makes for a neutral listening experience, useful for conventional stereo mixing and for integration in multi-channel monitoring systems with dedicated subwoofers, ranging from 2+1 systems to 7.1 surround systems.

The B2031P combines reliability with a trendy design, and is a worthy competitor as a low-cost playback monitoring alternative for the project recording studio or event videography post-production environments.

Comments about Behringer B2031P - 2-Way Passive Studio Monitors - Pair:

To start with, I am using these for home hi-fi, not for studio work, so take the following for what it's worth.

Before buying these, I had read reviews that said they had extremely accurate sound reproduction and flat frequency response. Having listened to them now for a week, I agree. They sound awesome with high-quality recordings of classical and jazz music. Even small details come through accurately. I hear things I could not hear with my previous speakers.

When listening to rock-and-roll songs, though, they seem to lack the kind of energy and punch you would want with that type of music. They reproduce all the sounds with extreme accuracy, but the sound doesn't really engage you. I guess you could say they sound a little flat, which is good in terms of frequency response but not in terms of energy.

But overall, they sound pretty good with a sub so I think I'm going to keep them.

Comments about Behringer B2031P - 2-Way Passive Studio Monitors - Pair:

Nice flat & accurate sound. Not too bright or harsh sounding.
        Vocals sound more natural.
For the price it's a steal. Needs speaker grill or cloth on the woofer.

Comments about Behringer B2031P - 2-Way Passive Studio Monitors - Pair:

I bought these because I had read good reviews and it looked like they were blowing out the price to make room for the new models with the ribbon tweeters. I'm not generally into prosumer gear but I figured I'd give them a shot for [$].I currently own pairs of Dynaudio BM6P and Yamaha NS-10M monitors. I drive all the passive monitors in my home studio with a 500 watt Bryston power amp.I A/B'd the Behringer monitors in that setup and while impressed with their overall clarity and volume handling abilities I can't even begin to fool myself into thinking that they're flat. The highs are very hyped but not as harsh as I expected after reading other reviews while the lows are tight but a bit boomy in the way a poorly mic'd acoustic guitar can get. Adjusting placement mitigated a bit of the boominess and I'd imagine the highs could be tamed with a bit of EQ.Overall, I'm still impressed with them and would expect to pay 3 times as much for a monitor of this quality but find them pretty useless for critical work compared to what I already own. My Dynaudios are a much more balanced monitor and the NS-10, while not the greatest, is much more useful to me for midrange work. The Behringers are going right where they belong - as the mains in my modest home theater setup. I feel that they'll find a good home there as a real world reference set and for movies where the hype can enhance the experience. My only concern is that they'll lose some of their magic when no longer paired with the Bryston amp.
