Comments about Lowel Half Pole - 18-30" (46-74cm):
These are very solid and are good for a variety of jobs. We use them to hang lights from the ceiling in our small studio, and the extendable poles are great to raise the lights up and out of the way when they're not needed.
I've had problems with the Lowel knobs breaking in the past, but these seem much more durable.
The only issue i've had is it takes a bit of force to tighten the sections so they are not loose.
