I have been recording in a home studio setting for many years now and my setups have gone though many changes and upgrades from entry level gear to true professional gear. I use this on a PC running Cakewalk Sonar Producer and it works just fine. There are other control surfaces out there but if you want this many features from other companies you will spend so much more. The unit looks pretty nice as far as design and functions as it should. The only real complaint I have is that the fader knobs feel like cheap plastic. They look a lot better than they feel. It still gets the work done so I guess they had to skimp somehow to get the price down that low. This is one of the few times I would recommend a Behringer product.

The BCF2000 has great potential, but why in heaven's name Behringer didn't include a transport panel is mindboggling. To record, one must press two buttons at once, and these buttons are located at the very top and bottom of the unit respectively! If you have small hands, it is a two handed operation! Who came up with this design? There is no jog-wheel, and no master fader. How much would these items add to the price? Probably no more than $25.00 or so. I would gladly have paid another $100.00+ to have these things included. Given that the closest competitor sells for $1,0000+ it would still be a ridiculous bargain (allbeit a much more useful one!), this kind of corner-cutting is self-defeating. I can live whithout a master fader and a jog-whel, but the absence of a reasonable transport panel spoils the whole thing for me. It gets three stars, since you can't get the motorized faders for anywhere near the price, but it would, could, should have been a 5+

Comments about Behringer B-CONTROL FADER BCF2000 - USB/MIDI Controller Desk - (Black):
This product works quite well with my DAW of choice, and it feels as though I'm just scratching the surface with all of its tools. It's very solid, performance-wise, and structurally; it's sitting next to my Korg padKONTROL and I can't believe they both cost me [$] dollars. The Korg seems like a cheap piece of electronics in comparison. The motorized faders ARE loud, as noted in the reviews I read beforehand, but I'm usually knee deep in a set of cans when I'm using them, and the only times they cause major noise issues is switching between "presets", or your large groups of channels (i.e. 1-8, 9-16, etc.) Expect other people in the room to find them more bothersome than you do.Overall a very, very good investment for anyone serious about mixing with a strapped budget.

Pretty versatile & very useful, but the editing software may be a hassle for some users. It will not work unless you have an extremely old version of Java installed, which is obviously a security threat. I use Windows 7 64-bit, so I have to uninstall the current version of Java, install the old version, use the program and when I'm finished with it, re-install the current version again - EVERY TIME I want to use the editing software. It works, but it's a bit ridiculous. They REALLY need to update it.

I use the BCF2000 for a 'tactile' control surface when I do location multitrack recording. This allows me to 'bank' back-and-forth between my input tracks and allows me to get a very quick 2-channel rough mix from my DAW. It's small, lightweight and seems to be very well built. The built-in power supply is a nice addition, which keeps another 'wall wart" or 'brick' out of my cable bag. As many users online have said, it would be nice if the surface was touch-sensitive, but for this price, I won't complain - it fits my needs and budget PERFECTLY.

THe B-control by Behringer is a great piece for many applications. I am using it as a sub-fader control for various computer based DMX lighting software. I use it as a sub panel to play scenes specifically. I know there will be many MIDI applications I can use it for as well. As a beginner the B-control by Behringer was easy to connect with 3 versions of Lighting software. AMDJ My DMX, Horizon software and Grand MA software.

Recommend this product to everyone, very easy to install. i am using the controller with protools 8 using mackie hui protocol. All buttons and faders/rotary encoders work with protools. makes mixing easy and fun. thinking about buying another one to be able to control 16 channels at ones. defenitely a good investment. If your on a tight budget best controll surface with motorized faders.

I bought two of these to use in our edit suites. One developed a problem after one day of use. [...] You can tell Behringer manufactured this model on a budget and used lesser great components. Hence the low price. I would still recommend this as it has great features with the USB interface with Final Cut Pro and Motion. It's pretty cool! But I did expect more from Behringer.

I use the controller for automation edits mostly, were its better to ride a fader instead of poking around with a mouse.Setup was easy enough, there were some videos on the internet that made setting the unit up fairly painless. I have nothing negative to say about the unit, its not as robust in construction as its competitors, but its also no where near as expensive either. It would be nice to have LED readouts for channel information and device setup, but once again for the price I have no complaints.

I am using the BCF2000 as a contro surface with Reaper(DAW). Once you are set up properly everything works great. Faders are not too loud that they disturb mixing, but I would turn off the BCF when tracking/recording or at least turn off track automation. For the midi non-expert the setup is a bit challenging, but there is a lot of info out there in forums to help you. If you run into setup issues, keep trying - you will get it.

It works seamlessly with logic and protools. Ive had no bad experience with iy. I heard that tgey were very noisy but it doesnt effect the wirk flow and its not that bad. Unless your usig automation for the faders you inly hear tgem moving when you recall another session. Its great and the price cant be beat

This is about the only thing i could find that does what it does and it does it well. A control surface with 8 motorized faders is hard to come by, and this one is awesome. The faders can be noisy, but they work well and if your volume is up you don't notice the noise. Compatible with whatever program you use.

I couldn't find a similar product at this low price. Very good motorised faders. And the knobs have led indicators that reflect the value in your software or vst. I used it with FLstudio's mixer on mackie emulation mode and it works like a breez. The only thing I would that dislike, is that on mackie's emulation mode, there is no feedback on the led screen, but Behringer makes this a little easy by providing a BCFview software that would give you some feedback. Any how if your DAW supports it, you just can plug and play without emulation mode.
Overall, great product for the price. I'm loving it.

This is a great control surface for your home studio project. Side by side with a regular mixer you'll have everything you need for recording and mastering.
The best feature of this MIDI desk is that you can set it to emulate other mainstream control surfaces.
All and all it's a perfect MIDI desk.

I've been most pleased with the BCF2000. There is plenty of software available on the net to make programming easier. The faders are a bit noisy but that would stop me from purchasing it. I use it with Reaper (my DAW software) but I'm sure I could set it up to work with Reason and other software I use. Overall build quality is OK. Highly customizable to suit your needs. All in all a great purchase.

I was given a few weeks to review one of these products and sadly, I wasn't impressed. I found the faders to be noisy and gittery and most annoying was the lack of touch response found on many of the higher end controllers.
Behringer tends to put cheap components into their products making them break down easily as well as preform sub-par to similar products. You get to pay less but in the end, only have a product that will last half the time.
Until Behringer fixes this product with better components and features, I will not be recommending it to friends.

Comments about Behringer B-CONTROL FADER BCF2000 - USB/MIDI Controller Desk - (Black):
I use it for lighting software called Freestyler, but the device is completely programmable to any MIDI channel from any fader/encoder. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who could benefit from motorized faders. Like any Behringer product, it works well, but is likely to be fragile, so take care of it. I bought two, and they link up perfectly. You will have to come across two MIDI cables on your own, but that should be pretty easy :)
