I own about 20 of these slide boxes and recently purchased two more. Logan's quality control was never superb, but my latest two samples show it's now worse. The latch design is adequate but has changed from the picture on this web site. They used to come in a closeable cardboard box which I saved to store the slide box; those boxes can no longer be closed without tape. The slide tracks vary from too narrow at the front of the box, to about right by the rear, meaning my slides sit canted in the box. Obviously, this means I'm not getting 750 slides in a box. Disappointing to say the least, and my last purchase of a Logan slide box.

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #200 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Double Latch:
I have been using the Logan Electric Slide File #200 to store color slides since I took my first slides in 1969, and now have over 70,000 slides protected in over 70 of these sturdy metal boxes. The files have kept the slides archived safely in my half a dozen moves across state lines to new homes. The files are a good mix of a convenient size (each holding up to 750 standard size slides) and archival protection. The first ektachrome slides I took over 40 years ago have maintained their color quality in the darkness of these metal boxes far exceeding the usual expectation of color life for such film.
This is the best model made by Logan Electric as the slides are stored right in the metal box whereas some other Logan models have plastic inserts or dividers that decrease the quantity of slides that can be stored, or have flimsy plastic inserts that could become brittle over long term storage. I prefer this storage method to slide trays with multiple drawers, because the slides in this single slide depth tray with lid are better protected from light and dust. The single metal trays are also sturdier than boxes made of archival cardboard or metal boxes with multiple drawers (which are far more expensive).
The model 200 comes with cardboard dividers that separate the box into compartments each holding 25 plus or minus a couple of standard slides. The dividers have to be removed from a larger sheet and you need to clean off their edges before inserting in the box to remove any loose chaff. The cardboard is not archival quality but this has not been a problem in my experience (the paper in the old carboard mounted slides was not archival either). It would be easy to trace a pattern on archival cardboard stock if you wanted to replace the dividers that come with the box.
Very rarely there has been a manufacturing defect that narrowed the metal channels dividing up the boxes, so that some of the sections could not hold 25 slides each. This has happened in only a couple of my 70 boxes, less than 3%. If you stack the boxes on top of each other the clasps that close the boxes might scratch the bottom of the box stacked above it. I have solved this problem by placing small stick on felt pads on the bottom corners of the boxes; this also will keep the metal boxes from scratching the surfaces they are sitting on. If you move frequently, save the original cardboard boxes for packing and protecting the files.
Logan Electric was bought out by another company a few years ago, but the files are still marketed under the original name and model numbers. While the price has gone up considerably in the decades since I bought my first file, they are still a bargain given the quality of the product. Purchasing through B&H provided the best price and quickest service I have found, beating even factory direct prices and shipping charges.
After over 40 years, my first Logan slide files are still in use, and the newest ones I purchased from B&H are of the same high quality. No product has come along in all that time that does a better job of storing and protecting my professional and personal slide collections.

I have about 5000 slides to store. I ordered one to see if it would do the job. Seems to be about the best way to store lots of slides in a compact space. I will buy some more.

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #200 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Double Latch:
I've been using the Logan slide files for over 40 years and they contain 25,000 of my slides taken between the years of 1953 and 2006, as well as about 1500 slides of my Dad's and a similar number of my father-in-law's. They have worked superbly and kept the slides in A-1 condition. For me, there are no negatives.

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #200 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Double Latch:
I've purchased many of these over the years and I fully agree with another reviewer's comments about Logan's quality control. My biggest problem is with the lack of uniformity of the track widths which vary from front to back (think trapezoids rather than rectangles). Some slots are too narrow to accept slides while others are so wide that the provided cardboard separators won't stay in place. I just received three of these. One was good, one was so-so, and the third was completely unusable. When I was able to buy these in person, I used to take a cardboard slide with me so that I could check the fit before I made the purchase. I wish that there was another choice, but I'm not aware of any company except Logan that makes all metal files.

For archiving 35mm slides. The best you can use. Only question is whether you want group storage (bigger capacity) or the model that fits individual slides.

I have 13 of these, purchased over a few years. They work exactly as advertised... Quality, fit and finish are consistent. These are well made metal boxes that should last many years, especially for long-term storage.

We have been buying the Logan Electric slide files for 25 years but were told by our local camera store they could no longer get them. When I discovered they could be ordered from B&H, I didn't waste any time ordering them. They were shipped the day after I entered my order online and I was furnished a UPS tracking #. We received the boxes the following week and they were "as advertised."[...]

Good box and very well made. Does not hold even close to the rated capacity even with all the dividers removed. We were only able to fit approximately 500 cardboard mounted slides leaving us short. Will be exchanging it for the 1500
