Generally this a great way to store slides. The metal case is durable and easy to stack (with or without the cardboard box it comes in).
Total capacity is probably closer to 650 than 750 slides. The plastic insert has 30 compartments to use and I found each one filling up at 21 or 22 slides, rather than 25.
For accessibility and stack-ability, this model works better than the double tray. Although it may end up holding fewer slides, I also like the plastic compartments better than the adjustable cardboard ones in the other single tray model.
If I could change one thing about this slide file, it would be the placement of the latch under the handle -- it would be easier to get to, and more secure, with a latch on either side of the handle.

If you have a large number of 2x2 slides, this is a compact way to store them. Each division holds 23 slides (more if the mounts are thin enough), and there are 30 divisions in a box, for a total of just under 700 slides in a box. Compared to storing in carousels, the box takes MUCH less shelf space. A stack-loader for your projector is a must, as loading and unloading a carousel just for projection is impractical.[...]

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #215 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Single Latch:
The Metal box is well made. The plastic inserts work well to hold groups of slides. Thought the handle is awkward, with the latch below it. Overall it works well.

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #215 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Single Latch:
The plastic mold inside is really thin, as thin as those in candy boxes. The mold is black, not yellow as pictured. Each well holds 14 Gepe 7001 mounts (about 2.1 mm thickness each) for a total of 14x30=420 mounts total per box. The outer box dimensions are 192x366x53mm. The paint job looks good, but the manufacturing precision and fit and finish are not great. The latch under the handle is not a good design.
Overall, this is not bad for storage. For long-term archival storage, toss the included sheet and use high-quality acid-free cotton paper.

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #215 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Single Latch:
The case is average in quality. It is metal with a plastic form inside to hold slides in groups of about 20. There are 30 slots so the case can hold 600 slides, or move if you can squeeze in one or two extra per slot. The single clasp is right below the plastic handle and not easy to access. The clasp on the one I received is also hard to open. Added that the handle is in the way this makes it even more difficult to open. But overall it is a reasonable case for slide storage. This is not like the all metal cases from 40+ years ago.

I needed several more boxes to store slides from old Carousel units and these match others I have and fit the bioll perfectly.

Comments about Logan Electric Slide File #215 For 750 2 x 2" Slides - Single Latch:
These are great boxes for organizing the slides which have been tucked here and there through the years. The older boxes held only two or three slides in a slot, so when a new batch was discovered, it was quite a nuisance rearranging things to put them in order. Each holds about twenty slides making it much easier to sort and file an individual slide.

I have many of these boxes to hold my growing collection of slides. They stack well in my Slide Box cabinets. My only beef would be that the plastic insert to segregate the slides seems thinner than they were several years ago.

The box is well built with a slim profile. great for long -term storage. The position of the latch under the handle isn't perfect, but is adequate for storage purposes. The inventory list included is essential.

I standardized on this file box many years ago and have dozens of them. I like the fact that the slides are grouped into sections that hold 25 slides each. The box is well-made and stands up to the many years expected of it. I prefer it to the files that have cardboard dividers. I recommend in without reservation.
