I use this with my DV pro lights. It takes three seconds to install, and serves it's purpose, for the most part. It's only weakness is that, put up against the 250 watt pro light with diffusion glass, it provides light so soft it is sort of drowned out by the brighter, un-umbrella-having light. This is solved by moving the other light futher away, so it's a small complaint, but still one that is valid in close quarters.

I picked up a Lowel Tota light for some general fill lighting and figured this umbrella would be fine for my limited use.
All is fine as long as you don't as much blow on the umbrella. The wire for the framing is as thin and fragile as material can get. I bumped my light stand and put my hand up, thinking the light was going to fall over but the scenerio was not that serious at all. Too my surpise the umbrella folded just by my hand reaching out and catching the light and stand lightly.
Umbrellas are not kown too be durable but I've never worked with one this flimsy.

the 27 is good for tight places and is a quality product. Its Lowel so I'm not worried about discoloration or other problems being too close to a hot light. Too small for soft light in most shots.
Worth the money.

This was my first time purchasing a 'professional' lighting equipment piece. I have been dabbling in the world of food photography and have been shooting mostly natural light set ups. With the winter upon us I usually don't have time to photograph until after work, when it is already dark. I purchased this light umbrella to be used in conjunction with some lights I picked up at [@] and a couple of bounce cards. So far, so good! The umbrella works great for softening the light and diffusing it to make it natural. Plus the size of the umbrella is great, I live in the smallest apartment so the storage of it is easy. I would definitely buy more once I have enough money to purchase a professional lighting kit. B&H was easy to order from and my order came just two days after I ordered it!

I use this to soften the light in my studio on the figure and I love that it is easy to mount and easy to move. It is definitely a well worth it purchase and my photos show it.

Super useful when lighting with the Lowel kit. Just the right amount of difusion and folds up real small. Took a set to Cannes to shoot some interviews on the fly and the umbrellas came in handy.

Lowels Tota-brellas are a quick EASY way to convert any hard-sourced light into a nice soft fill in a snap. Small to pack, easy to use makes these a MUST HAVE in the lighting kit IMHO. The fact they are stupidly cheap only adds to the allure. In these days of $200+ softlight fixtures, [$] is a BARGAIN.Down side, if you can call it, is you need to be sure fixtures have some means to attach the umbrella stem on.

It fits the lowell stand for a tota-light, slips in and you twist the knob, it is secure, easy. Umbrella does close and there is a semi-permanent vinyl case to put it in.

This is the perfect, inexpensive umbrella you need for ANY Lowel light you buy. Tota-lights and the Pro-Light are best. Lightweight, so it won't tip over your light stand and attaches to any Lowel lights' built in bracket.
I use whenever I just want that little bit of softness on my subject.

I got this umbrella as a part of a B&H kit that came with a Lowel Tota Light, Impact Stand, Bulb, and this Umbrella. Everything else in the kit is great, but this umbrella is awful. Whenever I turn the light on and this umbrella heats up a little bit form the light, it starts making a loud popping noise. There's something wrong with the way it is made where it flexes or or expands when it gets hot. I have tried everything and can't get this to go away, so I am ordering a different umbrella.
