The Evolution G2 Series is the latest addition to Sennheiser's Evolution family of wireless microphones. The UHF wireless microphone system features 1440 tunable frequencies and 4 frequency presets. This system includes the EK100G2 camera mountable receiver, SK100G2 body-pack transmitter and ME4 cardioid lavalier microphone.
The EK100G2 receiver is made of a durable metal enclosure and features a full functional LED display. The receiver features a 1/8" unbalanced TRS mini output for quick connection to camcorders. The receiver features 4 preset memory locations that can be reassigned to any of the 1,440 available frequencies, within the 32 MHz tuning range.
The SK100G2 body-pack transmitter features an identically designed enclosure as the receiver. It also features an LCD display and 4 preset memory locations that can be reassigned to any of the available 1,440 frequencies. The transmitter features an 1/8" locking-mini input for compatible lavalier microphones. The ME4 cardioid lavalier microphone features a sensitivity and frequency response suitable for capturing in the most demanding environments.- UHF Transmission

- The system is pre-configured with 4 preset channels, however the channels can be reconfigured with any of the available 1,440 frequencies within the 32MHz range.

I use this Lavalier system for recording many mics. I only use the Evolution series and an audio board connecting the mic lavalier to a aux.

I use the wireless system for video production and corporate videos. I have no regrets about spending the money. My boss didn't regret it either, although at first he thought it was an unnecessary expense. With excellent clarity at over 200 feet, ya, no regrets. I'm not too keen on the permanently attached antenna's, but the body's feel strong and durable.
If you're going to spend this kind of money, get the warranty. I did. I would recommend the G2 series to anyone who was serious about quality sound for their video productions. I like knowing that I can grow with this set too. I asked a pro sound guy, Discover/Travel channel, what he thought. He said he's seen them used on set before and they are compatible with Lectrosonics and other Sennheiser systems. So that's good.
