The PST or Personal Solar Telescope from Coronado provides stunning H-Alpha viewing of the sun - you can gaze for hours on end at the active red ball; from day to day it will perpetually offer an ever-changing array of prominences, active regions, filaments, as well as other surface details.
The PST is a 400 mm f/10 solar viewing refractor with a 40 mm objective. It's fitted with an H-Alpha solar viewing filter, and the thermally-stable system is tuned to <1.0 Å. Operating the PST is as easy as installing the eyepiece and focusing - within seconds you're ready to gaze in wide wonderment at the beauty, enormity, and intensity of the Sun's subtle (and some not-so-subtle) intricacies.
The PST features the same technology and quality that goes into a SolarMax telescope. However, at <1.0 Å it cannot reveal as much surface detail as the <0.7 Å SolarMax telescopes and filters. However - the PST certainly does offer well detailed solar viewing, it is extremely easy to set up and transport, and it does so with a very manageable price tag.
