    Comments about Cullmann Monofix Monopod:

Lightweight, easily packable in a briefcase or field bag. Good for lighter point-and-shoot camera support. Not as sturdy as some alternatives, but significantly easier to carry. Good value for price.

    Comments about Cullmann Monofix Monopod:

I got this because I wanted something very small and unobtrusive to use at school sporting events from the stands or sitting in an auditorium at a concert or show. It meets this requirement very well. I have used it in both situations and it worked very well, after I figured out that I really needed to tighten the ballhead. With my Canon XSi and 50-250 telephoto, the ballhead will slip if it's not really tight. Also, the telescoping segments take some getting used to. It doesn't work like most tripods or monopods that have clamps that will tighten any segment at any length. On this monopod, you must fully extend a segment to lock it, except for the top segment which has a clamp. You can set this monopod at any height once you figure out that only the top segment is adjustable. And closing down this monopod is nifty. Open the top clamp and all of the segments will collapse into the handle with a push. It's not as sturdy or as stable as larger monopods and I doubt that it will handle as much abuse. It's also not quite as tall when fully extended as "standard" monopods. But all I need is something to hold the camera still which it does very well. This monopod is small and short when collapsed. And it's completely unnoticeable slipped into the waist strap holder of my small camera bag.

Small enough for travel. The legs are aluminum and just steady enough for my Canon xTi

          Comments about Cullmann Monofix Monopod:

I use this to provide a stable platform for 14x zoom Point and shoot cameras while on my feet and able to move around a little at concerts. I wear a fanny pack in front and rest the foot of the monopod on it. I extend the monopod up to almost arms length to shoot over peoples heads. I got very stable shots/Video at full zoom in concert lighting.

This monopod is quick and easy to extend full length by releasing the one flip lock and extending the sections fully then locking the fliplock when fully extended. It collapses just as fast and easily by reversing the process.

For shorter lengths extend fully and lock then squeeze the buttons on individual sections to collapse just that section. The top section is fully adjustable for the length of the section using the flip lock while the other sections must be fully extended to lock.

Collapsed it easily fit in my fanny pack along with the cameras and batteries. A longer collapsed length would not have been practical for me and I would have had to abandon the idea of using a monopod.

The ball head worked well and locks in position solidly. Left slightly loose you can make minor adjustments while shooting though not through the full range of the ball. It's not sufficiently precision ground for that.

The rubber foot seems permanently attached. When fully extended and locked don't lean on it too hard because the flip lock while holding very well for intended purpose will slip if you apply excessive weight on it.

The more sections extended the more the shaft will flex if off axis force is applied. I didn't notice any flex with point and shoot cameras attached.

Seems very well designed and built.

            Comments about Cullmann Monofix Monopod:

I using this on my new Sony HDR SR12.
It is great to keep the Cam steady.
I like the collapsed size of it (11 3/4" fit great in my Camera Bag).
It also didn't cost me an arm and a leg.
