This is a really vital accessory that should be in everyone's kit. There's no better way to keep your gels organized and safe. And for $30 less than the alternative, I don't mind that there's no core. You really don't need it. Also, the velcro straps on this are a HUGE improvement over the elastic bands on the more expensive other one.

I use this holder for the specialty gels I like to have on set. Sometimes a gaffer might not have exactly what I'd like and it's great when I'm shooting doco's or smaller productions where I don't have the luxury of a gaffer or electrics team.
I no longer have dozens of gels and diffusion scattered across the back seat of my car. Given that I'm not a gaffer, I never plan to own too many gels and don't mind that they can get mixed up. I love that they're now all in one tidy place.
Given that gels generally come already rolled up it is difficult to flatten them out and roll them all up together like this bag is designed to be used. I actually just have them all rolled up separately which suits me fine given that I don't own too many.

Comments about CineBags CB-06 Gel Roll:
I'd used a different brand before that was pure canvas and worked well, but I was pleased when I got this brand and it had a liner--small detail, but I figure it will keep the gels cleaner--This is a must-have for any videographer--much better than wrapping your gels and gobos with a rubber band!
Comments about CineBags CB-06 Gel Roll:
Great to hold all my gels, much wider than I tough it would be (not a bad thing). Does it job well, I don't have to figth with carboard tubes or rubber band anymore.

To easily carry a set of gels on every shoot. I wish it could be a little more wider to hold bigger pre-cut shapes. Otherwise is helps me save time and stay organized.

This bag is simply USEFUL. Gels are now organized, easily accessible and all in one place. There is not much to this bag really, it holds gels and holds them well. I am really happy with this bag!

I really like this thing. Turns out you really don't need a plastic tube with end caps... I can even put some black wrap in here and throw it in the tripod case for overseas shoots. It is made well and you can spot those green straps and handle in the dark.

Works great. I've used the more expensive alternative and can't justify the added expense. This is a simple, reliable design.
