i bought these feet as replacement for one of the standard feet which disappeared off my Gitzo tripod while using it in the mountains. They are great..good spikes for terrain and big rubber feet for slippery surfaces or where it's important not to scratch

Just used these in soft snow and ice in Yosemite on a Gitzo carbon fiber tripod and they set in well and it was easy to brush off the snow as opposed to having the snow/dirt get stuck inside the threads of the retractable type spikes. Have not used them in soft mud yet. The caps are a little stiff putting on and off so far, but since I almost always shoot outside, I will probably be using the spikes uncapped most of the time. It was also handy using the tripod with these sturdy spiked feet as a supporting staff while walking across ice. You need to be more mindful to not poke anyone with your tripod with these pointy tips. The kit actually came with two different outside diameter caps. Perhaps for different substrates but it also means you have a second set if the first ever wears out.

I bought these after I lost one of the original feet off my Gitzo GT2530. They fit perfectly and feel nice and snug, although I have taken the recommendation of other reviewers and used a little of the blue loctite to prevent losing any again. I would also agree with a previous review that the rubber on these works a little better on wood flooring- it's not as hard, so the feet slide around less.

The benefits of the spikes are well covered by the other reviews, but one unexpected benefit of the rubber feet that came with my spike-order is that they grip significantly better on wood floors than the rubber feet that came with my 3541. My 3541 is only a few months old, so I don't think I can attribute the difference to the age of the rubber. The rubber on these feet also feels harder than the rubber on the standard feet, resulting in a more snug feel on hard floors. And of course the spikes are very nice, too. The washers that came with my set are black, not silver as in the picture, and match the tripod nicely. Everything screws together with precision.

These spikes are very effective on soft ground outside and on carpet inside. Also, they come with rubber boots that fit over them very tightly so that they could never fall off. Just another great product from Gitzo.

If you do any shooting outdoors you need these. They are far superior and easier to maintain/clean than the integrated spikes and shoes. Use Lok-Tite (blue) if you don't want them to fall off.

These leg spikes are easily installed on your Gitzo, and come with two sizes of washers and removeable rubber feet for indoor use on delicate surfaces. They are a MUST when used outdoors, as the original bouncy rubber feet do not provide a steady platform on loose surfaces or in the wind. They should be listed in the "Accessories" column of every Gitzo tripod model since most people are unaware of their availability. Even most Gitzo dealers won't admit to knowing about them. Another reason to shop at B&H! If you work outside you need them.

Dont let the warning fool you, I bought these for my 1530 gitzo pod and they work fine. The screws fit snugly and the feet Really hold onto the spikes when you first get them. Little bit of WD40 fixed that!

Contrary to other internet comments, these spikes work perfectly on my Gitzo 2530 tripod. They screw in snugly and don't seem to come loose. I will carry a 1/2 inch open wrench or cresent wrench with me in case they do come loose in the field. Very happy.

Being Gitzo I was expecting them to be good, but these are really good. Comes with two sizes of washers and rubber end caps, I'm guessing to match the ends of your tripod.

I use a GT3541XLS, which I assume means has a "0" end section, and the smaller size washer/cap matches.

These spikes helps to lock down and keep my 2540EX from sliding on soft uneven ground. This is especially useful when the center column is angled horizontally for closeup camera positioning.
