Great boom pole.
Relatively light and works extremely well.
Only cons would be the tightening mechanisms can be a little hard to tighten without spinning the pole itself which can wind up the internal cord a little more but as long as you're conscious of this it works great!
Also a little cord noise when moving quickly but not too big of a deal.
Great extension and great product!

This is a great value with one exception
Lightweight, good grip on handle, internal cable works excellent, WHY don't you put a standard-sized mic mount thread on it?!?!?

Comments about K-Tek KE-110CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable:
Telescopes nicely, very clean design and smooth operation. However the internal mic cable makes noise that can be easily picked up by a mic mounted with just a clip, vs. a shock mounted suspension. Not a fault of the pole, just a requirement for whatever mic you may be using if you plan on moving the boom at all during recording (which is of course why you are using a boom).

Comments about K-Tek KE-110CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable:
As a soundie who works in a variety of environments and shows having a more robust boom pole is an absolute must.
This item fits the bill, I dont mind the weight difference between an aluminium boom pole vs Carbon Fibre.
The internal cable has not made any noise when I didn't want it too and the spring action when new went after a few days use.

Hi there. I'm a DP who from time to time shoots documentary and am asked to provide a basic sound kit. I bought this boom pole to complete my kit and am pretty happy with it. It is lite, quick, extends a good range and is low-profile. Pretty happy with it.

For the price, this boom can't be beat. The internal coiled XLR cable pushes this pole over the top. It has a sturdy build and is a must for anyone doing any sort of field recording.

Comments about K-Tek KE-110CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable:
This boom is built with quality locking nuts and has enough reach for just about any project I can think of. It didn't get five stars from me because of its tenancy to spring closed after being fully extended due to the coiled cord inside. On the plus side its sturdy, light, the cord dosn't rattle inside. It's perfect in every way except the spring-back tenancy. This was a great buy!

I use this with my Rode NTG-3. It gives enough length to where it is great for starting boom operators and it is very lightweight, not to mention cabled! I have no complaints.

I use this on a light stand to record audio for interviews. The pole is sturdy, light weight and easy to manage. Having the internal cable means that there is one less dangling cable to worry about.

Comments about K-Tek KE-110CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable:
Works great, good feel, lightweight. The only con is that the coil inside the pole generates a bit of a spring tension inside that makes extending it just slightly annoying. You need both hands on this thing when you extend it or it tends to spring back. It still beats taping cable onto the pole.
