The Di100FR2 is designed for 35mm and digital SLR cameras with or without battery or vertical grips. The FR2 is the first bracket of its kind that can be folded into a 4x5x1" storage size and still have the Newton patented rotation system.
All the features of the standard FR bracket are built into the FR2. This is a flash rotator bracket that rotates the flash around the axis of the lens with Newton's patented rotation system. The design also makes it easier to hold and shoot the vertical grip. The overhead unit moves up and down and the camera plate platform can be adjusted left or right for larger lenses.
Note: Flash attachment is not included.

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
The Di100FR2 Newton Flash Rotator Bracket is such a great product. Bought it in 2006 and until now, its as sturdy as it was 5 years ago. I use it for events photography and is very useful to get the flash in the proper place.
Never had a problem with it since I bought it in 2006. Until now its as strong as it was. I used a 350d back then with a low end lens, now im using a 60d with L lenses and the Newton bracket can still be used.
Oh, plus they have great customer service. Robert Newton himself emails you about your queries.
Great Great ProducT!

This is a sturdy, very well machined flash bracket. All of the parts fit together and lock very securely.
It's very unobtrusive as well. I would recommend the quick release flash attachment and a shortened off shoe cord.

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
I've used this bracket since way before B&H started carrying them. It's a marvelous performer, sturdy and long lasting, light, and generally a pleasure to use. After your first shoot with this you'll wonder how you ever used that "C" shaped monstrosity. Newton is one clever dude. Kudos.

Best bracket of it's type that I've found in 30+ years.
I use this with the Nikon SB series flashes as well as the Norman 400 series units. Simple, lightweight, reliable and effective.

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
It is a great compact rotating bracket that feels like it will be sturdy for everyday usage.
The bracket would be better if allen wrenches weren't required to adjust everything. Other than that it is great. And don't forget to buy the part to attach your flash.

all good with this bracket. sturdy, for sure - compact and never got in the way. the big drawback is the 3 allen wrenches that you have to tote around for the assembly/disassembly.

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
Very small and light, just perfect to carry during long events. I had a Stroboframe but I couldn't keep the same flash position when turned which was very uncomfortable and inconvenient. I was going to buy a camera flip bracket from Custom Brackets but it seemed to big, heavy and needed to buy many other accessories to cover my needs. Because these reasons I bought this bracket which is fantastic. One just little flaw: I only need 1/8" to center the flash perfectly to my 24-105 Canon L lens that is pretty wide, but if you have a regular lens or different than mine won't be a problem. Thanks!

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
I recently spent 4 days using this bracket at San Diego Comic-Con. I'm glad I spent the extra money for this more compact bracket. It's simple, small, and well designed/made.
I didn't have much experience with flash brackets, so I went into the store and checked out B&H's inventory. This was the smallest but most expensive one.
I feel like I will have this bracket for a long time. I don't want to buy something and have to replace it later on. Buy the right one first I say!

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
Got this for an upcoming wedding assignment (my first) as a means to swing the flash round 90 degrees for portrait shots. The unit is sturdy but unobtrusive (insofar as these things can be) and matched well to my body (Pentax k7) in terms of balance. No problems with operation throughout the day. As the unit is essentially self assembled it is easy to set the tightness of the action to your preference. The only downside is that you do need to keep the allen keys handy for tune ups or disassembly. On this point my only suggestion would be that it would be preferable if only one key size was required for all adjustments.

Comments about Newton Camera Brackets Di100FR2 Folding Flash Rotator Bracket:
I own three Newton flash brackets, including two of the folding variety. Quality-made! Owned their N7200 model for years. Heavy use, and still could use it everyday! But the folding brackets fit so easily into a bag. Great design! Small company in FL, and have spoken with the owner on the phone to order parts and accessories. Never a bad experience. Totally satisfied with Newton products!
