Cutters are square or rectangular frames with mounting pins attached. Used to control natural or artificial light. Can be used to protect the camera lens from flares, control spill light from other sources, or keep light from reaching an area on the set.
Newly designed 90° Cutter frames will make it possible to position the instrument over the top of the set wall or to use two or more units to create a box for better light control.

Comments about Matthews Cutter - 18x48":
I use this cutter to remove unwanted light fall off from a lage continous light source soft box. It would also work well with flash heads too. Working somewhat light an egg crate on a soft box, this cutter can be positioned next to the light and its lengh is good to fit along the sid eof the soft light, much like one flap of a barn door. I use several of these and have two of them permantly on c-stands in my studio. Don't let hot lights get too close - the fabric of this cutter may be fire ressitant but it will burn.
