Comments about Acratech 2.5" Quick Release Plate for Lenses:
I use this on my Canon 70-200f4L IS. It easily mounts on the tripod ring with the included screw and allen wrench.
It does not twist once screwed onto the tripod ring and holds tight on any Arca-swiss compatible head.
Great product, great price

Comments about Acratech 2.5" Quick Release Plate for Lenses:
This is a good plate and gets the job done.
On the bottom you will find that it is milled out, so if your ball head has a spring loaded safety pin, this plate will be able to utilize it in the event that it has to be used.
The reason I gave this plate 4/5 stars is because the coating is more prone to scratches than other plates that I've used by Markins. This shouldn't be a make or break deal because it is a very good plate and to be fair, it is $10 cheaper than the Markins equivalent plate.

Comments about Acratech 2.5" Quick Release Plate for Lenses:
I coupled the Acratech 2.5" lens plate with my Canon Zoom Lens 70-200 f/2.8 and it is a perfect fit. The plate mounts to any standard Arca-Swiss quick release plate. If you have the [...] quick release plate with the quick release lever and not the thumb turn style you had better check with [...] to be sure other manufacturer's lens and camera plates work. I read a note on their web site that I understood to say if you use their quick release lever style plate you need to use their camera and lens plates. They are nice people and a quick call should clarify things.

This plate is a perfect match for my Acretech tripod head. It is attached to a Canon 100-400MM zoom lens. It keeps the lens pointed in the right direction. Does not twist on the lens mounting foot.

This plate is very light and the machine work is excellent like all acratech products that I have purchased. The ridge across the end keeps it from spinning.

Comments about Acratech 2.5" Quick Release Plate for Lenses:
Very solid & sturdy quick release plate. The good & bad is that it requires tools to install/remove so you would probably want one for each camera that you plan on using with this tripod.

Comments about Acratech 2.5" Quick Release Plate for Lenses:
Acratech makes very well made tripod accessories -- ball heads, quick release clamps, camera plates etc. This is for attaching to the tripod screw on a lens collar so you can mount a heavy telephoto lens and camera on tripod equipped with an Arca-Swiss compatible quick release clamp. It has a lip at one end. When you screw it into the tripod mount an position it so the lip is in contact with the shoe of the collar, the plate wil not twist. Like other Acratech gear, this little plate is nicely finish black anodized aluminum. It comes with a standard 1/4 thread stainless steel socket screw and a socket wrench.

Comments about Acratech 2.5" Quick Release Plate for Lenses:
If you have an Acratech head that uses quick release plates, this is a must have for long lenses with their own mounting foot. This plate is specifically created for lens attachment and has a lip in the back for the rear of the lens foot to back up against. There is no cork padding on top of the mount so the foot of the lens mount attaches to a metal surface creating rock-solid stability. Mine is mounted to a Nikon 70-200 VR F2.8 lens and could not be more secure.
