ATS RAM BOOMPOLE CRADLE - Boompole Mounting Kit for Lightstands
The ATS Boompole Cradle Package attaches to standard light stands(C-Stands are recommended)with a 5/8" stud, and allows hands free boom operation. Positioning of the boom can be adjusted via the Double Ball Joint. No additional hardware is required to mount it on the stand.

Works exactly as advertised, definitely has some heft to it. I'm in the same boat as a couple other reviewers though, my product came looking like a used prototype. All of the painted metal is scratched and the rest is super durable plastic. For 75 I'm looking for a bit more polish, but at the end of the day who cares what it looks like? Keeps me from hiring a PA.

It's functional but in the world of video/photo equipment high tolerance mechanical engineering this device looks like a prototype. I had to assume that it's made by hand in someone's garage. I like my gear slick and clean. I'd pay double for that.
But, let's not be too hard on this product. I used it extensively for a recent documentary film shoot and it performed well. It's easy to use and functional but when you pull it out of the box don't expect German engineering.

One of the things I watch very carefully is safety - I bought this because it said safely holds boompole...I don't think so - the clamp provided does not, well, clamp? There is actually nowhere for it to clip to? I am going to try it on a shoot and if the rest works - then I will remove the clamp and replace it with a solid Velcro strap.Like some mentioned - it does look like it was made in a garage... For the price - I am disappointed - I would send it back, but it is something I need [...] so I'll try to micky-rig this to work.

Just replaced a very very very old black steel cradle with this lightweight beauty. We use it for on set audio with a carbon fiber boom pole and an avenger C-stand and it works great. I will say that I wish that it had a single adjustment point rather than the two ball joints it uses just because it can get a bit floppy which makes fine tuned adjustments like finding the edge of frame a bit tricky, but not to the point that it's a deal breaker. All in all a great piece of on set equipment.

It's a great idea and handy. However, I've had a lot of problems with mine being able to tighten enough. It's gotten to the point where the handle simply turns. It will creep down slowly into the shot.
