Comments about VariZoom RockDVX Zoom Control:
I use this zoom rocker for filming skateboarding on my Davis and Sanford fluid head tripod. Skateboard cinematogrpahy requirs a lot of zooming in and out, using one hand on the zoom on the camera, and one hand on the tripods stick, I could never unlock my tripods full potential.
I can now use both sticks with my tripod and it is a world of differance. I should have bought this years ago, any sports videographer would be nuts without it.
It has excellent sensitivity, it utilizes the amazing capabilities of zoom speed range the Panasonics poses.

Comments about VariZoom RockDVX Zoom Control:
I bought this for a new Panasonic HMC80 and it works well, making it much easier to manage the camera on a tripod. It has a good feel and a nice long cable and should be able to mount on almost any tripod. It seems sturdy and well made. A tiny quibble is that the "dwell" or neutral range is a little wider than I'd like -- in other words, you have to press the lever a bit farther than I'd expect before the zoom starts to move. There is a mechanical centering adjustment that may help with this, however, and it's something I will probably get used to fairly quickly in any case.

Comments about VariZoom RockDVX Zoom Control:
i'm more professional with the VZRockDVX .Smoother starts/zooms with pans.Better overall/easier control with having your zoom control on the tripod heads pan handle. And you sould use 2 long Telescopic Pan Handles.

Comments about VariZoom RockDVX Zoom Control:
A must for tripod and tracking shots all with one hand.
May be difficult to mount around padded pan handles; not much room to spare.

Comments about VariZoom RockDVX Zoom Control:
If you haven't used one of these and have thought about getting one! DO IT!
I film allot of sports and this is simply amazing the change of how I do things.
I would also recommend if you have a tripod that has the ability to have to pan handles to get an additional one! One for the control and the other for your hand...
