The Pelican PCS-179 D'Exec Series Compact Rolling Camera Case has a main compartment that will carry a digital or photo SLR outfit or a medium format camera outfit with lenses, flashes and accessories. It has a removable tray with movable dividers for organizing equipment and handles for easy removal. There are two inner, gusseted, mesh pockets for accessories and tripod straps with catch pocket for a tripod. The case can be carried by Leather, spring-action side and top grab handles and molded foot-handle plus Inline skate wheels with sealed roller bearings and corner protectors with a recessed multi stage, locking, and retractable handle.
The PCS-179 removable messenger type computer case can hold a full size laptop computer and accessories. It can be carried by a molded carry handle or the included removable padded shoulder strap. It has a webbing loop on the back that allows the laptop case to be slipped over the handle of the main case. It also has 1 organizer pocket with leather trim and 2 outer ccessory pockets.

I am Using this bag on a Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion trip. A lot of traveling. This bag helps to stay organized. I keep my iPad in the detachable zip on case., as well as extra supplies. It is very sturdy with strong zippers. I love it!

I bought this case so that I would be able to carry most of my camera gear as carry-on. It holds all my lenses, flash and body. It also has several conveinent compartments for other items as well as your computer. The only down side I have for this case is the retractable handle. It seems to be pretty flimsy; I expected a lot more durability from a durable name brand item like Pelican.

It is one of very few cases that are under 18" in height which is very important for international travel. Excellent design and I like the separate laptop case and that they provided a way to mount a tripod to the side of the case. It is also lightweight which is important. Hard shell cases like the Pelican cases are so heavy you lose 1/3 to 1/2 your allowed luggage weight before you put anything inside. With a case like this one you can take another 8-10 lbs. without worrying about excess weight fees.

ON THE WAY TO GREECE, STOPPED AT B&H STORE IN NYC. NEEDED A CASE FOR EQUIPMENT AND WAS RECOMMENDED THE PELICAN PCS-179. WHILE EXITING PLANE AND CARRYING CASE, HANDLE CAME APART. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION, I REMOVED THE CONTENTS OF THE BAG AND WAS ABLE TO OPEN ZIPPER AND FIND THAT ONLY ONE (1) SCREW AND NOT THE 2 SCREWS NEEDED TO HOLD BRACKET FOR HANDLE WERE THERE. TO ME THAT MEANS THAT THEIR QUALITY CONTROL IS LACKING.

Although not a hard case, sturdy and convenient for carry-on. Very sturdy and well functioning zippers. Lot's of room for my cameras and lens. Can fit my 17" laptop in a removable laptop compartment. My only complaint is that I would've liked more little zippered compartments for small camera accessories (like cords, batteries, memory cards, etc).
