I found the product to be very useful and easy to setup. My need was to send a signal from my cable providers HD/DVR box to my under cabinet Radio/TV. I wasn't sure how I would get a wire all the way over to my kitchen without cutting up the wall or dragging a really long coax cable around my house. Either of those options sounded like to much work for a 9" LCD that I only use when cooking.
B&H's 5.8mhz link sounded like a great alternative. I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews, but with B&H's 15 day money back guarantee I figured why not. I couldn't be happier! The signal travel from 35' feet away through my fire place, stair well that contains a tone of stuff underneath it, then a wall, then my refrigerator, then behind the cabinet door that hides the unit. No loss in quality in sound or picture. Best of all my wireless network, cordless phones, blackberry's, and microwave do not interfere at all.
My only recommendation is you strongly consider your needs. If you just need to send a signal to a TV in your kitchen or bathroom then is should be fine for temporary usage. Remember it is only RCA (composite red/white/yellow cable) technology. If you're thinking about setting up your 72" inch TV in the spare room for your man cave, you may want to consider spending a few hundred extra to buy top quality wireless equipment, or hiring a contractor to run the cable wires for you.

I bought this product to extend video to another room where it would have been difficult to run cable. The unit was complete and went together without a problem, however there was little information on troubleshooting. On initial power-up I had interference bars in the remote picture and crackling sounds in the audio similar to what other reviewers have said about the product. I eventually traced the problem to our 5.8 GHz wireless phone system. All channels of the video device were equally affected by interference from the phone base station. It made no difference whether the phone was idle or busy. Net result, we have to turn off the wireless phone system while watching video in that room. This makes the use inconvenient, as it is easy to forget to activate the phone after watching. The remote extender is a nice feature, though and the video remote is very good!

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
AVS-5811 are perfect to use with a camcorder and a external power source to live stream what you are recording to a projector. The only "bad" thing is the compagny doesnt sell external powerpack to use it so you have to use a battery backup or any other power source

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
The product installed easily and quickly in our kitchen getting the signal from the bedroom.
Picture and sound is clear through two walls and the remote feature works well, but it also changes our main set, which is no big deal except during football season.
A whole lot easier than running a cable for sure, and we would still have to go to the bedroom to change channels.
If it lasts as well as it works, its a winner.

I use the a/v sender and receiver for a tv in my back yard. Works great and no wires everywhere. I have not noticed any interference, even when my 5.8 GHz cordless phone is in use. Great product

I use this product to send my directv broadcast to my basement while using the weight room equipment. Tried it upstairs first on a closer TV to get a feel as to setup. It worked great right out of the box with no problems. A very good product for me. [...]

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
I'm using this device to transmit satellite A/V signals to my outdoor pavilion (approx. 75 feet). Previously tried a [...]version but this device has much better picture quality and less interference. There is still momentary interference when someone passes between the devices or stands in front of the receiving unit. May not be suitable for areas of high traffic but works great when people are well away from the line-of-sight signal.

Used this devices to send live video feed from camcorder to the TV in different room. Image quality is decently good, however, this device must be in stationary. A good line of sight is also required, otherwise the noise will appear on the screen immediately.

I installed a TV on my deck and got this product so I can watch my favourite programs and movies. It was simple to install and works flawlessly going through walls and furniture (great image and sound). I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who wants to watch TV in another room without running wires. I also receive the unit in no time after placing the order so that's also a great bonus!

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
I'm not a big TV aficionado; I have an old 27" Panasonic CRT from 1998. My cable comes in to my office, but my TV is in the next room over (about 14 feet away, through a wall). I plugged it into my TiVo in my office so I could get rid of the cable running across my living room. It worked well enough for a few days, but I soon started to notice that, when left on for a few hours at a time, it would cut out. I'm leaving the cable running through my living room, but I'm also keeping this device; even though it didn't really work well for me this time, it could still come in handy in the future.

Wanted a device to send a signal to an outdoor seating area to watch TV on a small flat screen.
It was easy to setup, and it totally surpassed my expectations.

I bought this wireless transmitter so that I could watch a small portable TV while in bed. The video reception is great, with no static and has great sound. You can broadcast any A/V source throughout the house, including DVD players and output from satellite TV broadcasts.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
We use it to send a TV signal from the bedroom to an outside patio. Great picture/audio transmission. Fast set-up but NOTE: If you are sending a TV signal which comes off a satellite receiver such as [...], the RF transmitter unit must be connected to the video-out terminals ON THE [...] BOX, not the TV itself (i.e., connected to the source). The set-up instructions don't tell you this.

I own two separate units & looking forward to adding a transmitter only. For those with the negative comments, ask yourself is it cheaper to purchase & own this forever without a monthly charge or lease other receivers from service providers for a never ending payment? I simply love these units. So easy to install a cave man could do it.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
I want to eliminate my second satellite box (and monthly charge). House is 1,800 sq ft. Transmitter on first floor, receiver on second with 2 walls and 26ft separating them. Works great sometimes, at others it receives interference. Extra movement on the house by people (or the dog) can cause brief interference too. When in bed at night and not moving around I'm satisfied. During day with extra interference from other signals (I guess) and human movement, it can be frustrating. Haven't canceled second Satellite box yet.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless A/V Sender:
Using it to transmit a church service, via a composite from a camcorder and audio out from a mixing console, to a TV in another room. The room is aprox 40 feet away. There is one door between the transmitter and receiver. There are also people moving between the units on occasion.
The picture and audio are fair with occasional light shots of white noise and horizontal bands across the screen. The color is a bit degraded but usable for our purpose. I wouldn't want to watch a HD movie on it though.
On attempt to use it with a downstairs TV, about 70' distant, the white noise and banding became unusable.
If you are a person who can live without "superb" high quality picture, and you will be placing the receiver not too distant from your transmitter, this may be the unit for you.
