Panasonic DMW-LMC72, 72mm Multi-Coated Protector Filter
The DMW-LMC72 Multi-Coated Protector Filter is a wise initial investment. It helps protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. A Protector Filter is probably the most popular filter people use. As a lens protector, it should be left on at all times to guard against front element damage.
A Protector Filter is the best available protection for the front element of your lens. A lens that accidentally gets dropped on its front element while hiking can potentially be saved by purchasing this item. Some people refer to it as "cheap insurance".

Multi-coated UV filter is a must have accessory, especially on lenses with larger front element (>72mm). I was getting flares on some of my pics from using an uncoated UV filter; when I replaced it with this unit, it solved the problem. This one is made my Panasonic; it's their Lumix line. I am not partial to any one brand, be it Hoya, Heliopan, Tiffen or Cokin as long as it does the job and is reasonably priced. Even if your lenses aren't pro-line optics, it will benefit from multi-coated filters in general. This unit also comes with a lens cap - an added bonus.
