The JIB/R Jack In The Box Source Combiner from Galaxy Audio is a device that allows you to add an extra channel to a mixing console. Combine two stereo sources such as a tape, CD, mini disc, or mp3 player onto (1) mono XLR or (1) 1/4" output. It also permits phantom power to go to both input devices if it is available from the console. Use this convenient and economical unit to expand input capacity without replacing your existing equipment.

I manage the sound hardware for our congregation. Our mixer has a limited number of inputs. I was able to use this device to properly combine the audio from an MP3 player and a CD player into a single channel on the mixer.
At times it can be tempting to just use a Y-cable to do the job, but this can damage sound equipment. This box will do it properly.
