The McClamp, The Clamp eliminates wind effect for improved sharpness of photographs. It clamps to a tripod leg and can hold such items as gray cards and 12" reflectors. It improves compositions by providing more control of your subject and background. Explore new creative angles by adjusting the 26" flexible arm while the clamp holds your small subject in place.
The holding clamp has two surfaces - firm plastic outside jaws for a firm grip, and soft inner neoprene jaws to hold delicate subjects. This clamp is also avialable in a version that can stand alone -- THE STICK (# MCSTK).

It gives me full control over placement of my subject, keeps it steady, allows me to be more selective with the background, and gives me all-around flexibility and creativity, without adding weight or burden to my already-filled bags. I bought this so I could attach it to my tripod to extend objects to photograph close-up. It works okay. Unfortunately, even the larger clamp does not fit around the leg of my tripod. Also, if you bend The Clamp a way it doesn't want to go, it will snap off and you have to reattach it.

These are great items to have around the studio. Handy for product photography to hold items, reflectors, and any other item that needs to be clamped in place. Great non-scratching clips.

It does exactly what it claims to do. One clamp goes on the tripod leg. The other can handle delicate things, like flower stems. For what it can do, it's reasonably priced and well made.

One tiny breeze will make you tear your hair out. this solves that problem and many others.

Comments about FM Photography McClamp The Clamp - Standard Micro Clamp and 1" Mount Clamp:
The McClamp is a very helpful third hand for holding reflectors or other small objects. The padded micro clamp can be used to hold delicate objects like plant stems with minimal damage. It is easy to position clamped objects.
The McClamp is not sufficiently rigid to hold something as heavy as a small flash, or to completely eliminate wind motion when holding plant stems.

I bought this mainly to help with holding flowers still while I shoot them, and it does that very well (except for tiny flowers, for which it's a bit too big). I did find it a little on the bulky side for fitting into a camera bag; it's probably better left attached to the tripod instead, although it can occasionally spring off if nudged the wrong way.

I use this to hold objects for macro photography and to hold a 12" relfector.
It holds a flower gently and firmly, without damaging the stem.
It holds a 12" reflector if you can attach the clamp to a small table. It doesn't hold the reflector well if the clamp is attached to a light stand or my tripod legs, because the clamp slips.
It takes some getting used to angling the "snake", but it has become a useful addition to my macro equipment.

Definitely works as advertised. I think it is likely to last a long time too. It is mildly bulky but I don't think there is anyway around that...

I got this and the McStick in time for spring wild flower season and have used it several times. I've used it to hold a 12" Lite Disc Translucent Reflector to shade it from the sun and provide more even lighting on the flower. The large clamp clamps onto the leg of my tripod and the flexible arm is strong enough to hold the reflector in place.
It can also be attached to the tripod to steady a photo subject that's too high off the ground to allow use of the McStick, although you have to be careful when you move the tripod because it also moves your subject.
