Comments about Sigma TS-41 Tripod Collar:
You can't go wrong with a piece of metal to hold your lens on a tripod. Specially a heavy one. Although I think the price is a bit high on this one.

Comments about Sigma TS-41 Tripod Collar:
[...]The TS-41 is a replacement for the original one that came with my 70-200 f/2.8. I broke that one on a shoot (it was attached to my tripod and I walked through a narrow archway and clipped it on a wall, cracking the hinge and rendering it useless). The new one is stronger-looking, bigger, and very well made. I think the carrying handle bit will also be helpful for moving it around, and it even comes with a carrying strap that connected to a boss on the mount itself so you can sling the lens/mount over your shoulder (and hopefully NOT slam it into any archways...).Pricey, yes, but well made and essential when you're a klutz like me.

Comments about Sigma TS-41 Tripod Collar:
Much better than a standard Tripod Collar supplied by Sigma, but quite expensive too.
However, it gives a good handling option for longer lenses and this is the onlin thing that is iportant.

Comments about Sigma TS-41 Tripod Collar:
The tripod works as advertised. Provides increased stability and higher profile to give you more clearance between tripod head and camera body. Additionally it acts as a handle for gripping when walking (see the groves on the foot). Contrary to previous reviewer this is a great value. It works on multiple lenses (about 6-8 lenses) unlike higher priced OEM collars which work on 1-2 and do not necessary provide the same degree of utility.

Comments about Sigma TS-41 Tripod Collar:
Exactly as pictured, made out of solid casted material with surface texture matching the Sigma lens that it fits over.
Use it on my 70-200/2.8 EX APO fitted to a monopod. Fits like a glove on this lens. Superior to default ring. Helps to relief the pain of carrying the 2+ lb of glass all day.
Solid product, the locking mechanism is a click-in then twist to lock button. One problem is the lack of positive feedback when the lock is engaged. False engagement can be detrimental to your lens.
It is very expensive for such a simple construction item. Wished Sigma could have made it more affordable - or someone other than Sigma clone/improve it.
