Comments about Cavision AR8572 Adapter Ring for Lens Accessories:
I'm using 4 of these guys on my various Canon EF lenses. I use a step up ring to get to 72mm from the 58mm front of the EF Lenses.
The reason, for this is that I am using an Arri MMB-1 with a 85mm clamp on ring. The matte box is connected via 15mm lightweight rods, and then clamped to the lens. This creates a very sturdy steal that keeps light out, and provides great stability to the camera package.
Currently, I'm using these on a 5D mk II in video mode, but will also use these with RED Epic camera.
What I like best is that, I can use different front diameter lenses with step up rings to get to the 72mm front.
The downside is that for some of my lenses, L series primes, I have to use a 77mm to 82mm step up ring, and then an 82mm extension ring. Results in the same great place for attaching a mattebox.

Used to close the gap between my Matte Box and the Panasonic DVX100B. Fit the donut on my Redrock microMatteBox like a charm. I am very satisfied.
