Sigma Zoom Super Wide Angle 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC J-Autofocus Lens for Pentax Digital AF
The 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC lens was exclusively designed to suit the characteristics of digital SLR cameras. Ideal as a standard starter zoom lens, this lens provides an equivalent range of approx. 27-75mm when used with the Pentax *ist digital SLR camera (*). The use of aspherical lenses provides correction for various aberrations throughout the entire zoom range and produce a high level of optical performance.
DC lenses are exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras. The image circle (rear of lens) is made to match the smaller dimensions used for the image sensor on digital cameras. As a result these lenses are also more compact and lightweight, and are better matched to digital SLR cameras.
(*) Note: Not suitable for 35mm film SLR cameras, or for 35mm size "full-frame" digital cameras.
Note: As with Pentax "J" type lenses, one of the ways the smaller size of this lens was made possible was by removing the aperture ring control from the lens. All aperture changes can be done directly on the camera.
