The Electro-Voice Dx 38 is a 1RU rackmount, programmable digital multi-speaker P.A. system processor and controller. The unit is equipped with 24-bit/48kHZ resolution A/D and D/A converters, 48-bit internal processing, and a versatile set of selectable, configurable EQ's, crossovers, delays, and compressor/limiters.
All audio connectors on the Dx 38 are electronically balanced XLR's, and a complement of MIDI In, Out and Thru jacks are included for external control and SysEx backup and software or preset updates.

- Processors include: 4 digital compressor/limiters, 3 master delays, 4 channel delays, crossovers with selectable 6/12/18/24dB/oct. slopes, Butterworth, Bessel, and Linkwitz-Riley types, and 26 parametric equalizers
- Filtering includes low-shelving and hi-shelving EQ, switchable LPN(low-pass notch filter), low-cut, hi-cut and all-pass filters
- 50 preset and 30 user memory locations, internal Flash memory for software system and preset updates
- 122 x 32-dot backlit LCD display
- PC-based operating and configuration software, Windows 95-98 compatible
- Balanced XLR I/O's, Input/Output Meter Instrument, Compressor and Clip LED's
