Just plug the Instant Music into a USB port on your computer and you are ready to begin recording from any analog audio source into the most popular digital audio formats available such as MP3, WAV and WMA (Windows Media 9 Audio) and AAC. Once in a digital format you can create Audio CDs, MP3 CDs or have the audio ready to be played for your personal music enjoyment on a variety of MP3 player devices.
Convert your old collection of cassettes and LPs into crisp, clear digital audio and then create audio CDs and MP3 CDs so you can keep a personal archive of your collection that will not degrade or deteriorate over time. Use the LP or Cassette to Audio CD Wizards in the included Nero SoundTrax software to go from LP to CD audio in 4 simple steps. My uncle in Miami has a tremendous amount of music on old vynal LP records that he just loves listening to. Recently, he purchased an iPod and uses it for his daily bike ride. After surprising him with the RX-150, he was absolutely overwelmed with joy when he learned that he was able to take his music from his LP's and move them to the iPod. The RDX-150 is a great product that I would definately recommend to anyone who needs to preserve thier old LP's, cassettes or 8-Tracks.

Want to use the product to transfer older LP's and 45 RPM records to CD from an existing turntable. When I ordered it, I was under the impression that it included a pre-amp. I was looking for a pre-amp to use with my sound card in the computer. There is a link with which to purchase a pre-amp, but it is no longer available from the manufacturer (assuming the product because the link wouldn't work). Very disappointing because I had to resort to using an old amplifier that I wasn't too sure of. Wife would kill me if I disassembled the entertainment center for my good amp. I do like how the software filters old noises, but it is very limited. I even purchased the software upgrade but there was no noticable difference in the upgrade except for allowing the saving of the tracks to .mp3 and a couple of others. The software is difficult to use because it seems very primative and makes mistakes while trying to edit the sound file tracks. The software is also limited to removing one item at a time from the sound file; i.e., pops/clicks but not the Clean/EQ. Am trying to experiment by saving one, reloading it and applying the other, but the software gives an error and closes. My advice is to save everything so as not to lose the time you spent recording. The software also seems to mix up the recordings and the CD Text information between tracks. The reason I gave three stars is the quality using only the Clean/EQ is good. I have been using another software to manually remove the Pop/Clicks. It also provides for the S/PDIF input and output but tnere are no cables nor written references.

I got the product. It was inexpensive, however it just does not work well with Apple software. I contacted Tech support and although they were very helpful, we simple could not get the product to allow me to transfer records into music files.

Comments about ADS Technologies RDX-150 - Instant Music USB Audio Capture Device:
I have about 250 LP's from back in my military days, and have been searcing for a way to transfer them to Digital format in my laptop. Over the last couple of years I have bought two other "so-called" transfer untis, both which did not work, even after having my "I.T." person try and firgure them out. This unit was as easy as the intructions stated, literaly plug it in and play, record, transfer. Once you set the perameters and what you want and where to transfer it to, it does it everytime,
The biggest disadvantage in some ways is that you must play the entire album to record each, which takes awhile, but has brought back memeories as I listen to each song on each LP. This unit was a mere fraction of the cost of the other two units, software I purchased before. I highly recommend this unit to anyone!

I've been using this for converting old tapes to mp3s. It has standard rca inputs, as well as fiber optic toslink. Works just as expected. Remember, the quality of the mp3 is dependent on the original media as well as playback device. Works perfect for what its intended for.

Works as advertized and is well worth the price. The box is plug and play and the capture software installed in no time. I was recording within ten minutes. The auto track split exactly right on the first tape but had two extra splits on the second tape I recorded. Correcting the extra splits was as easy as sliding the stop mark to the correct spot. Depending on your installed sound device, the monitoring feature may not always work so I would recomend a spliter so you can plug in headphones and the hookup cable to your tape or LP player. I found one in the [...].

The first one I bought was in 2006. I kept moving it from one computer to another till I wore out the 600 ohm RCA plugs on the back. By buying 2 more I will never have to move it again.

Comments about ADS Technologies RDX-150 - Instant Music USB Audio Capture Device:
Product was pretty easy to figure out. I don't have to start and stop the cassette/record to make each song a separate track, the software does that and it can search for the albums and put the names of the songs on too. Saves alot of time. The cable hookup was kind of confusing in the directions but I figured it out. I haven't burned the music to a cd yet, but I saved it to my pc to do at a later date.

If you are running Windows 7, the incuded Nero software is not supported, but Nero will sell you Nero 9 for an additional [$]That makes this little box kind of expensive.

I had it set up in less than 15 minutes and had an audio tape digitized immediately. I had to download a free program in order to get it all set up and playing but the company website had suggested that so that didn't take too long either. I'm interested in enough quality to play on my computer or MP3 not room stereo set so I didn't play with adjusting quality. I'm not a computer wiz and it was pretty easy.

Easy to use. I was doing test recordings within 15 minutes of opening package. Records to WAV files and it is easy to create MP3s. Easy to adjust recording levels and filters (clicks and pops etc.).For some reason software would not burn discs, had to use Windows Media for that but still learning the ins and outs.Getting another one for my dad to use. Packaged with all required cables.
Expertise: Novice
Problems Encountered: Software would not burn discs. Had to use Windows Media Player. Not really a problem for files automatically show up in WMP. Still five stars.
