The Switronix XP-L90S is a V-Mount Lithium Ion battery offering a power gauge, information storage and a 2 pin output connector. It runs at 14.8VDC with a 98Wh capacity.
A "GP-S V-Mount" battery plate is required for mounting this battery to a camera. Some cameras, such as the bigger, shoulder mount Sony cameras, come already equipped with a GP-S plate. Smaller prosumer cameras cannot take on this battery via a GP-S plate because they feature too low of a voltage. For such cases, Switronix offers cables that regulate the voltage. One such cable is the XP-DV-S20. A GP-S plate isn't required when employing a cable.

- Li-Ion batteries can deliver 40% more capacity than comparably sized NiCd batteries and are one of the lightest rechargeable batteries available today.
