The Director direct box from Whirlwind converts an unbalanced line, instrument or speaker level signal to low impedance balanced microphone level, which is then suitable for imputing to a console or microphone preamp.
The Director is a passive device and therefore requires no external power supply. The unit features a ground lift switch and a 30dB pad for selecting between line/instrument or speaker level signals.

When you need to run instruments through your sound system, you have to have at least one and in our case six.

Comments about Whirlwind DIRECTOR - Studio or PA Direct Box:
I've used this on pickups from a number of acoustic instruments: violins, mandolins, guitars, etc. It always has a clean sound and the features I need to enhance the quality (if necessary) like a ground/lift switch, impedance switch for the input (instrument/amp) and a filter switch. Plus it's passive so I don't have to worry about phantom power. I love it!
