I always used batteries for long interviews and now just plug in and have the convenience of charging while running the camera.
Also reverts back to battery if power is lost.

The Sony AC Adapter has been a great addition. It basically lives on our second XDCam on our Jimmy Jib. Now we aren't running down batteries just to keep the camera balanced.
The fact that it is another battery charger as well is icing on the cake.
It's very versatile since can be an on-board or cabled power supply or a battery charger.
Price took some justification, but it should last as well as the cameras. Sony has always been very proud of their products.
