I'm actually using it to get my lens' entrance pupil (nodal point?) over the point of pivot for a panoramic combo. I use this along with a 3-way tripod head that has a T-slot in the top plate, along with a Simpson L bracket from[...]. Google it for the full setup, Total cost: $40 or so

This bracket (Metz 32-38) is the latest incarnation of the Metz 32-36 bracket that is standard issue for the Metz 45 and 60 series flashes as well as the G-15 and G 16 Grips.

The original bracket always impressed me as being an extremely rigid, solid bed to mount a camera onto when using any of the flash systems mentioned.

This new bracket looks virtually identical, but instead of being a precision metal forging, it's largely made from high-tech carbon-fiber. This is the same technology used in the aero-space industry and currently being used in many camera frames. The rubber beds are no longer glued on - they are an integral part of the casting and can never come loose.

The look is identical, its lighter, the rigidity is uncompromised, and there is now no paint to chip or wear off - it should keep its appearance indefinitely.

This bracket is intended to be used under a camera with a side-mounted Metz flash, but I’ve also found it just as useful for off-camera use. The dual tripod mounts let it be easily attached to a light stand and provides a wide rigid platform perfect to mount a flash (any flash), or an umbrella mount, or a Pocket Wizard, or an optical trigger - or all of those at the same time.

There are a number of flash accessory bars on the market, but for price and function – this one’s got them all beat!

This is referred to as a "camera bracket" and was targeted for use with a camera and a side-mounted Metz flash, but I personally use these more off-camera then on-camera. The dual tripod mounts make it a breeze to mount on a light stand and add a flash (not necessarily a 45 series) or a spigot to mount an umbrella clamp or a Pocket Wizard or an optical trigger - or all of the above at the same time!!

Compared to any other flash accessory mounting bar on the market - this has got them all beat for price and versitility.
