Comments about M-Audio Audiophile 192 High Definition 4 Input/ 4 Output Audio PCI Card with Digital I/O and MIDI - Mac and Windows:
I bought the card strictly for listening to music while connected to my stereo gear. It's great for that and produces very good sound. Unfortunately, I can't comment on other capabilities of the card.
The card installed easily and runs fine on a Win 7 64-bit PC using drivers & instructions on the M-Audio site. Driver installation was a breeze.
Buyers should be aware of a few little things. I connect the card to a stereo receiver, which drives speakers and a sub-woofer. If you do the same, you need a cable with 1/4" TRS phone jack on one end and RCA connectors on the other. A second issue is that it is very difficult to read the tiny labeling on the card's connectors. I had to get a magnifying glass and flashlight to identify the "Monitor Out" connectors. Also be aware of issues with M-Audio's support software. M-Audio's Live Lite software wouldn't install on my PC - it produced constant hangs. Software provided with the drivers is really bare bones. The software issues aren't important to me as I can still control sound by other means.
Overall, I'm very happy with the card and B&H Photo is a great seller.

I needed a better sound card to fully appreciate the music on my computer. This card sounds great and has high quality input and output connections. I don't use the midi features that it provides, but the high quality sound was worth it.

I'm using this with M-Audio BX5A deluxe monitors and it works perfectly with them. I don't mix or record music, I'm a casual user. I can hear things in some of my music that i haven't heard before, almost makes some songs seem like new again. There isn't much included documentation, only a quick start guide. The product manual can be downloaded from the m-audio website. Other than that it works perfect for what i need it to do.
-has an easy to use interface
-the connectors on the included dongle are labeled
-documentation could be better
-comes with a bunch of software

Comments about M-Audio Audiophile 192 High Definition 4 Input/ 4 Output Audio PCI Card with Digital I/O and MIDI - Mac and Windows:
I needed a card that pushed out MIDI and recorded both in analog and digital.
Installation was marred by having no Intel 64 bit drivers in the package. After a little searching I found some beta drivers on the M-Audio web site from 2005 that installed and seem to work.
MY first project was to drive a Roland sound module with a MIDI file and record the output from this directly back into the same card with SoundForge. This worked perfectly but I haven't worked out how to get pass through to the PC speakers as yet.
Quality and latency are excellent. I gave it four stars because of the driver issue if I was a 32-bit user this would be a 5-star rating
