I am currently running Windows 2000 pro and back in January I treated myself to a new digital camera. A real beauty. I LOVE it. I then realized that I couldn't use the software that came with the camera. That software was only for XP and Vista. Uh-Oh. After speaking to the B&H specialists I learned that I could purchase this card reader and my problems of downloading my photos and videos to my computer were solved. I just needed to have some kind of photo editing software on my computer. Fortunately, I have IrfanView loaded. I had a small glitch after downloading the software that came with the card reader. Quickly solved with a reboot. The nice thing about this card reader is that it is light and portable and has many slots for a lot of different cards. The only *problem* I had was with a picture on the front of the little pamphlet that came with the card reader. The slot that my card fits in is marked (G:) on the picture. When I tried to open the G: drive (on my computer) it said it was empty. So, I started clicking on the other drives that appeared in My Computer .. and lo and behold, there were my photos and videos, on the H: drive. This is my first ever card reader and I am pleased with the purchase.

Decent reader, good price
Mainly using it to read CF and SDHC cards from cameras. The front closing flap is quite good - keeps dust out of the slots. The included USB cable is short.

Getting SD/SDHC cards into the slot sometimes takes a little fiddling. My older version of this reader (pre SDHC support) didn't have this issue.

I will be using this on a film project on location to transfer images and sound recorded on compact flash and SD cards. Love how portable it is! It's lightweight, and it has a door on it to block out dust when not in use.

I am not very happy with the quality. It's VERY cheaply made and feels like plastic. It does work though. I prefer the multi-card reader by Sony better. The Sony card reader is more impressively made and seems like it will be more durable.

Comments about Lexar 12-in-1 Multi-Card Memory Card Reader:
I was excited to get this multi-card reader but was immediately disappointed when it had a loose cable connection. In the middle of uploading images it cut out on me and I had to start over. I spent a good amount of time on the phone with Lexar support before we figured out what the problem was. I have to hold the cable a certain way to avoid losing the connection. If it weren't for that, it would be a great product.

I only use CF Type II cards and this reader works very fast and works every time. Good build quality except the hinging door cover, which is a bit flimsy but it works just fine as a dust cover. Its minor and the cover still stays open but I imagine after several months of solid use it may tend to close.

I wanted a memory card reader that was reliable and fast. The Lexar memory card fulfills my needs. I like the pop-up door that covers the card slots. It keeps dirt and dust out.

Comments about Lexar 12-in-1 Multi-Card Memory Card Reader:
We purchased two of these readers to replace older CF single card readers. We chose this model over others mainly because of the multiple card types it can read, which we often need to be able to pull photos from. We have been surprised at its download speed and are overall happy with the purchases. So far nothing bad to report. Good product.

I really only needed this for my CF and SD cards but I decided to invest in one that could read so many different cards because I never know what I'll use in the future.
Since purchasing this I've found a couple of REALLY old digital cards (not even totally sure of the format) but the Lexar reader can read it!! I'd forgotten about even taking those images.
I love it.

I use this product to load HD video off of my SD cards and it works extremely well. Fast read and super fast upload. I had a Aluratek card reader previously and it died on me in a years time. Granted it got a LOT of use. Regardless we decided to go the slightly more expensive route and get this reader in hopes that it can withstand frequent use a little better. It is a bit concerning that this card reader feels really just as light and flimsy as the Aluratek.

Comments about Lexar 12-in-1 Multi-Card Memory Card Reader:
Very easy to use, just plug it in to a USB port and off you go. I had to push my compactflash card in with a bit of force so it could be read. I haven't used other cards with it, so I don't know if I have to use force with them also. The reader is small enough to store in a drawer and the flip-down dust cover is also a nice feature.
All and all, I'm pleased with this product.

Although I primarily use SD cards and already have an SD card reader I always like to keep a Multi Card reader handy in case some one hands me a CF or other kind of card. I tried only SD a CF cards so far and this little device transfers the photos very quickly (12 MP Point 'n Shoot Camera). The green power light comes on as soon as you connect it to the USB port on your computer. Another cool feature is the indicater light on the other side that let's you know that you are transfering your pictures to the computer (it also lights up when writing from the computer to the card). Unlike some other card reader devices, there is a cover over the ports that keeps dust out and when opened this door props the card reader up at a 45 degree angle which makes it more convenient when inserting cards.
