The EF-500 Super DG is Sigma's flagship TTL flash , and has now been updated to also be fully compatible with Digital SLR cameras that use a pre-flash, and supports full Nikon i-TTL flash operation (where supported by camera). You will find features designed for the professional, at a much more attractive price than the comparably equipped manufacturer's flashes.

Comments about Sigma EF-500 DG Super i-TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 165'/50 m at 105mm) for Nikon with i-TTL Operation:
I've had this flash for about two years and mine works well on a D70 and a D300. I have read many people complain it doesn't do cls/awl. Well it does work with the cls/awl system but is hard to get it set up. Just carefully follow the directions in the manual (being sure it's on the camera and the cameras f-stop is being displayed: if not 1/2 press the shutter button the: the proper menu items won't even show up otherwise ). Once set up; as long as you don't need to replace the batteries; it keeps the setting last used even when it is turned off and back on. I have had mine long enough that I can set it into cls remote mode fairly quickly. For the price, if you can handle the poor menu system buy two.
