Comments about Audio-Technica AT-PL120 Direct Drive Professional Stereo Turntable:
I like that I don't have to worry about the belt wearing out--it seems like that's usually the first thing to go on a record player. The RC cables are hard-wired, so you're stuck with them.
As far as the audio quality goes, you'll probably be more than happy unless you're hardcore into audiophilia (I'm not). My speakers are sub-par and my receiver is even worse, but I'm happy; this isn't a professional grade turntable even though it thinks it is.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-PL120 Direct Drive Professional Stereo Turntable:
I wanted a quality turntable to play my old LPs and to transfer some of them onto CDs. If you actually think about it, you can go to iTunes and buy 20 or 25 CDs, digitally remastered versions of the LPs you love, for about this cost. But some recordings you cant find. This would be better if it had a USB connection, but having both a preamp and a line out enables connection to either a regular amp with phono in, or the line in of your computer, with proper cables you have to find. But the sound of my old LPs really was improved over the Dual 1229 turntable which was definitely showing its age.
The Durable is not checked because any turntable needs careful handling.
