The Sigma 150mm f/2.8 APO Macro EX DG HSM lens is a super compact and lightweight large aperture telephoto lens, with life-size macro capability.
To maintain high optical performance from infinity to close-up 1:1 macro photos without accessories, the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM incorporates a "Floating Internal Focusing" (FIF) system. As a result, the lens also features a non-rotating front lens group which makes it easier to work with polarizing filters. The HSM feature provides ultra quiet high-speed autofocusing as well as full-time manual focus override.
The improved DG lens design corrects for various aberrations. This macro lens is specially coated to get the best color balance whilst cutting down on ghosting caused by reflections from the digital image sensor. The lens provides the utmost correction against lateral chromatic aberration which is a serious problem for digital SLR cameras.

Comments about 150mm f/2.8 EX APO Macro EX DG HSM Autofocus Lens for Sigma SLR Camera:
First lens I recieved was soft. B&H quickly sent a replacement. The new lens was perfect. Sharp as a macro/ prime can be. Both the hood and tripod collar are a great addition to the package. Used with my 1.4 APO teleconvertor, it makes an excellent telephoto lens. The three way focus switch is very helpful in allowing the lens to find a quick focus. A tripod is necessary...very rarely do I use the lens handheld with the SD14.
