The Metz 28AF-3 flash operates fully automatically, is fully dedicated to i-TTL capable digital cameras, and is compact enough to easily fit into your jacket pocket. In addition, the flash has a full-manual setting, and a manual setting with partial light output level.
This flash is designed to cover the normal focal length of 35mm (in 35mm format), but also comes supplied with a 24mm wide-angle and 85mm telephoto adapter. Features like the LCD display screen, Rear Curtain Sync, Slow Sync, AF Assist, and a manual firing (test) button makes this ideal to supply extra flash power with todays compact digital cameras.
Power can be supplied either by AAA normal alkaline batteries or equally price-effective rechargeable batteries.

Comments about Metz mecablitz 28AF-3N TTL Flash:
It works fine on a D70, but why would one want a small, lowpowered flash for the D70, which has one built in? Itdoes not work with the D2x; see problems section.
Problems Encountered: I bought this in late 2005 for use with a D2x. It is notcompatible with it. Metz support confirmed that fact. Idon't know if they have fixed the problem in newer units, but I suspect they have not, since it does not come up ifyou go to their web site and ask for recommended flashes forthe D2x. They do not point this incompatibility outexplicitly anywhere on their Web site or in thedocumentation for the flash unit, as far as I have been ableto find, however. Check carefully for compatibility beforebuying this or any Metz flash unit.
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Nikon SB-17, SB-15, SB-800, R1, many independent flashes as well
Items I Recommend: A different flash unit.
