The Elinchrom Style 400BX 400 watt/second monolight automatically senses your AC line voltage, and adjusts internally. Simply replace the modeling light and add a plug adapter for the voltage in use.
The BX400 has a large LED readout of the power level, which is push-pad adjustable in 1/10 f/stop increments from 400 to 25 w/s. It has an LED and switchable audible beep for 100% recycle/ready indication. Its built-in, switchable (on/off) optical slave fires instantaneously when it "sees" the light from another flash.
The 150 watt modeling light may be switched full on/off, or proportional to the power level selected. It has a centrally located 7mm diameter umbrella socket, fan cooling, auto-dump, and it accepts a 3.5mm diameter miniplug style sync cord.

- Fan cooling allows the use of softboxes
- Auto Dump function allows lower power level selection without having to fire the flash to discharge previous level
- Rapid re-cycling times with fast flash duration makes this unit suitable for fashion, or any other situation where a short duration of rapid firing is required
- Separate fuses for flash and monolight provide added safety
- Many reflectors and other light-shapers are available spearately

After almost 20 years of using lower quality studio lighting, good things have finally come to light. After purchasing the Elinchroms and using them made me realize how important good quality lights mean. Every shot is equaly exposed which has cut way down on my post processing time. The color temperature is right on and the hgh speed flas duration has been a lifesaver.
