The Gitzo G1178M ballhead is light enough to travel with, but strong enough to carry loads up to 8.8 lb. With the G1178M's ergonomic design, it is easy and intuitive to use, while its advanced precision engineering guarantees high performance locking with a wide range of camera equipment.
The G1178M offers excellent locking power for its size with a single lock for rapid and reliable locking in any position.
This head features the G2285MB quick release system. This mechanism offers a secure locking system for the plate so equipment cannot accidentally fall off the head, even if it has not been locked down. To remove the equipment and plate, simply press the lock release button and slide the plate out. The non-keyed square plate ensures perfect alignment without having to worry how the plate fits on the adapter.
