The two-section Manfrotto 196B-2 Articulated Arm with camera bracket supports 3.3 lbs at full extension. Extra versatility is also given by the sliding extension system which allows for easier positioning of lighting fixtures even in awkward and tight spaces (Replaces the 2935 Articulated Arm).
Maximum Length is 23.8 inches, and the bottom 5/8" spigot (compatible with the optional Superclamp), also has a 1/4" thread.

Comments about Manfrotto 196B-2 Articulated Arm - 2 Sections, With Bracket:
I used this to get additional height in a precarious water environment and the arm successfully held a smaller DSLR at angles.
I wouldn't trust it fully elongated with motion (swaying) involved, but it held up fine when slightly retracted.

Comments about Manfrotto 196B-2 Articulated Arm - 2 Sections, With Bracket:
Manfrotto products and accessories, in my opinion, are always well designed and well made. These arms are no exception. I have two of them. They offer vastly improved flexibility in light positioning and are very durable and well made. Makes it very easy to add and position one of your Speedlites for a hair or rim light without having to constantly move the stand around. Not quite as far reaching as a boom, but much more compact and lighter. Folds up quite nicely and compact.

Comments about Manfrotto 196B-2 Articulated Arm - 2 Sections, With Bracket:
I use this arm and super clamp to mount an LCD monitor to my tripod. Some shoots are tight and there's no room for a light stand. This allows my producer to check the shot on a cramped shoot. I've also used it to mic a room from a lamp post. Not too heavy but feels solid.

Comments about Manfrotto 196B-2 Articulated Arm - 2 Sections, With Bracket:
I use this with a Super Clamp to support a Sony HandyCam. The arm sections are a little shorter than I had hoped (they are 27cm/11in) but not so short to be unusable for my needs. Very easy to set up and use, excellent flexibility for positioning.
