Use it to tape just about anything especially taping diffusion frames and bead board bounces or labeling truck shelves and equipment bins. A must have at all times in any lighting kit. The cameraman's duct tape.

Used duct tape for years - never wanted to spend the few extra $ on gaffer. After two weeks, I can tell you that we are never going back. It's just as tough, much easier to write on, and best of all 99% less sticky residue! Nice 50yds size will last a while too.

Great for taping down white seamless and taping together white pieces. Can write on it, too.

Comments about Permacel/Shurtape Gaffer Tape - Professional, White - 2" x 50 Yds:
This is a very good product and easily a 5/5 however there are some issues you should be aware of. I think the Black Permacel Professional Grade ($8.19) roll is a better product if you don't need white tape. I'll explain why.Firstly, like the black version it is a very good Product, super strong and easily removed.I use this tape to protect my camera gear from bumps and scratches, but I specifically got this white tape to label my gear as it is quite difficult to write legibly on black tape for obvious reasons. Also I use this white tape to tape up my Canon Supertele's for protection from scraps and nicks. (Murphy's law means that it is always the uncovered areas that get hit...but anyway...)Similar to the black tape, this it is the best gaffer tape I have used - easily removable without leaving residue. This permacel professional grade easily destroys the cheapo gaffer tape which will just create goo and mess. (Exception is don't stick it to light film or soft surfaces like Cling wrap or one of those plastic binder pockets for paper - because it WILL be permanent for obvious reasons)This tape is also easy to tear so you don't have to cut it like the cheapo gaffer tape (which are quite plasticky and impossible to rip)Now the problems:Firstly the side of the tape is sticky. You can feel it as you run your hand over the side of the roll. This is extremely irritating as you get all this gunk and hair and dust collecting on the sides. The Black Permacel Professional Grade does NOT have this problem. You can put that in your pocket and you'll have no problems. This is especially annoying given this large sized roll - it's hard to find a container for it :(Secondly, it soils very easily. I put a strip on the bottom of my camera...it is now brown.Thirdly, the surface is not very good for labelling your gear. This is not the fault of the tape, since it's not part of its design, but I just wished it was better in this regard. The problem is first it is quite knobbly (being a high quality textured cloth tape), but worse, even when using permanent marker the writing will fade and run, especially when you put your sweaty hands over it. Like I said, I'm being picky on this issue and it is NOT the fault of the tape since it's not part of it's design - but I hope this helps you manage your expectations if you wanted to use this to label gear. It is still definitely usable in this regard - it's only a problem for where there is high surface contact (e.g. the grip or bottom of your camera), otherwise the text stays on relatively well. Also it does not seem as good quality as the black tape perceptually. Doesn't seem to stick as well either. I could be imagining things though, but that's just my impression.Overall though, despite the "flaws" it is the best white gaffer tape I have ever used. Highly Recommended - just be aware of the limitations

I've used several varieties of grip tapae and this is about the strongest. Great to have in white, more visible than black and when painted the right color of green can be used for match moving markers.

Iys gaff tape. Exactly like other gaff tape but white. Which has been a little beneficial for shoots where black becomes a little too noticable.
The con's though- its not that white. A little darker that a clean wall or white floor.

Even in temps around 100 degrees here in NM it does not get soft or over-stick. eazy to write on and will hold scripts, etc on boards. The full roll is Heavy, so I wind off what I need for a shoot on a short length of PVC. Jim
